alright heres the deal i might be putting off the swaybars and links for a while.im hoping that i came across a good deal on 06 legacy 5x100 stock wheels with 235/45/zr17 tires.the question is will these just swap onto a 97 legacy gt without modifications?if not what mods would have to be done to accomidate theses rims?i dont know if it matters but my 97 legacy has a 1.4 inch drop on it already.thanks!

without further research I think you are going to have a problem with the 235 width unless you roll the fenders. But I will leave that to someone that has more experience with the BD's to give you a 100% answer either way.

Personally, I would go with 215 or 225, but I believe that you will need to roll the fenders for the 225 even. Can someone give a definite answer?

You don't need 235s...go with 225s.

As for the lowering & large rims...do you have camber bolts for adjusting the camber? You might need to adjust the offset.

You could throw them on, see how they roll. I suspect you'll rub on the first 45deg corner you take.

would they rub due to the fact that its a 17 inch wheel, due to the fact that its a 235/45/17 tire,or due to the fact its lowered 1.4 inches?what would have to be done in order to use these wheels?new tires?fender rolling?spacers?im clueless and i dont want to shell out $$$ for rims i cant use.

If they rub, it's because of all three factors.

You might get away with 235 on a non-lowered car, on a 17" rim.

so the suggestion would be to leave it on 16's then????????

suggestion would be for the 17" rim, 215/45-17 tires and lowered  (IMO)

My suggestion would be to get your fenders rolled and go from there.
