So I came up a cheap crank from a WRX, the guy says it's an EJ20 engine. I have an EJ25 on my legacy.

Do you guys know if it fits? From what I read the stroke is different in those 2 engines, so I'm assuming it won't fit.

Not a good idea. Why would you want a crank from a WRX in your car anyway?

All I can thing of is phase 1 or phase 2.

Because it's cheap.

If the geometry is the same I can't see why it's a bad idea.

Assuming that both are Phase 2 cranks, the stroke between the 2 cranks are very different. If you use the shorter EJ20 crank, you will lose a little bit of TQ due to the reduced stroke = reduced compression ratio. You can counter this by getting custom rods to make up for that distance between the EJ20 rods & EJ25 rods. Assuming you can do that, your EJ25 will be pretty quick to spin up through the rpms.

Thanks for the info but I already made the decision of refurbishing the old crank.
