That's right, ladies and gentlemen. I have gone off the deep end, and picked up a third (THIRD? WTF, me?) Subaru Legacy station wagon. It has no back window,

Thaaaat's right! I've got a five speed! Finally, after years and years of searching, and almost a full year of settling for the reliable, yet boooooring 4eat, I have acquired a manual-shifted leggy!

And I wasn't even looking for it.
My mechanic told me that he'd had a guy call him to say that he was selling a Legacy wagon, and did my mechanic know anyone who might be interested?
Needless to say, I came to mind. When my mechanic told me about it, he said it sounded like the guy was selling a car for parts, but here's the number, give him a call.
I call, and the guy tells me that it's feeling underpowered, he's loosing coolant, thinks it might have a blown head gasket, and just needs it out of his driveway.
So I go look at it, and love what I see. Sure, it's rough, but it fired right up, and was still registered. I told the guy the truth, that I could buy the car for $200, but anything more was out of my budget. And he agreed immediately. He drove it to my house, and there it sits. I've take it down the street a few times, and I'll tell you something... It doesn't have a blown gasket. Hell, doesn't even feel underpowered to me. This thing will be on the road before the New England Meet, so help me god.
I have won life.
Seriously, $200, Hell, there's more than $200 worth of tires on it.

The terrible exhaust when I got it: (it's all there, but nothing's connected to the next part down the line)

Sweetness! I bet all it really needs is a solid tune up. You could swap over one of the hatches from one of your other wagons. How's the clutch and shifter bushings?

Also, backward hats unit!

So, I stripped the side panels from the cargo bay and sealed the rear "window" with self-expanding foam and packing tape. We'll see how that holds the rain out berore I put the interior back. Eventually, I'll be swapping a hatch from one of my other two.

Nice find, to be honest Idk why he didn't just cut the cat converter off and call the junk yard to pick it up. did that with my first honda, picked it up for free, got 400 for the car and extra 150 for the cat. (it was totaled with 267k or i would have sold it to someone for twice that) but great news for u! lol nice find

Ran into some real "engineering" along the way.
Coat hanger holding the corner of the bumper to the fender liner, since the screw hole rusted away.

I have no idea what's been done here, but the headlight connector doesn't have it's weatherproofing rubber boot. Looks like it came from some other car.

Wow, she's gonna need some work. Exhausts are replaceable, so isn't the front fender. As far as rust, it doesn't look too bad, but I'd get a few cans of WD40 and spray the whole underside of the car, especially the suspension parts, steering, axles etc. It looks like you still have the rockers so that's good lol

Muse
06-25-2013, 06:19 PM
Yeah, I got lucky with the rockers. The fact that they're intact is the reason I decided I can't sell you the GT skirt after all. LOL. My mechanic actually thinks he can get the exhaust back together. The pipes are pretty solid, it's just the connecting flanges that rotted.

Wow... and I thought my patchwork exhaust was bad, lol. Midpipe flange rusted and broke the day after I got the car, welded a new one on. Midpipe rusted, replaced it with a new one. Midpipe to axle back flange rusted, welded that shit together. Rear cat to midpipe flange broke off, welded in a section of pipe to fix it. All in one year

Sometimes headlight connectors need to be replaced. Mine were replaced by the previous owner too, due to meltage.

In reality, you don't have a long way to go once you're done with all of that crap removal. And it's a 1995, so you have options available for you. I think it's a damn good catch for just $200 bucks.

Muse
06-29-2013, 01:14 AM
I got a normal exhaust again!!!! Wooo! Like one that will pass emissions! Wooo!

Actually, I just got the stock one patched up, so that's saving me on parts & labor. My mechanic has this theory, having worked on, among other things, these cars since they first started coming off warrantee, that the first joint in the exhaust, where the doughnut-shaped gasket resides, is completely unnecessary. Well, he gets to test this theory on my car, as he just welded the pipes together with another short length of pipe in the space that the original joint was. If it faiils, he fixes it,. If it doesn't, I saved money, and he's right... win/win.

Next step, knock sensor and rear o2 sensor... Then it should be ready for emissions, and I can swap the registration and the hatch to it from the green car. Heh... I don't even have to takr the plate off the green car. just swap the hatch and the plate'll go with it.

Have you given your car a moniker? If not I was thinking "kaleidoscope" pretty fitting. I call my wagon the flea-bag or simply the flea..when I bought it it smoked from all of the oil and fluids dripping on the exhaust manifold and dog hair was all over it.

Yeah, a lot of people throw a P0420 with an unwrapped borla (or rep) header. Mine took ages to finally throw a fit about it, so I just cleared it and went on my merry way. Still hasn't come back... and when it does, not a single f*ck will be given. I'll clear it again.

my CEL turned on last night after it cleared itself for about 3 weeks now. initially it was a p0420 code but went to aap last night and ended up being a cat code. i erased it and came back up 50 miles later and i can smell some eggs... damn PA and their outrageous hill climbs. id like to go with a hi flow cat nut cant find one on ebay. maybe i just suck at searching.

Muse
07-12-2013, 01:36 PM
Yeah, I'm probably gonna not wrap it for now, and do the wrap in the future, after I pay off some of the parts I have on the car. Not really in the mood to postpone payments and risk loosing friendships just to avoid a CEL that I can just clear without any real worries.

Thomistopheles

Yeah, lol. If I ever have money lying around for wrap, I'll do it... but it's not real high on my list of priorities. If it were something that tripped a CEL right away, I'd take care of it. I'd hate to not realize if it had additional codes come up.

But, I'm almost there. The old, green bumper is back on for now, as I'm about to go play DnD, and need a bumper that's actually, well, fastened to the car. Expect it to be on for good by the Nov. 3rd Eastern CT Fall Foliage fun run (http://www.sl-i.net/FORUM/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=27884)!

The grille fits, too, which makes me happy, despite that horrible gap. I think a modded JDM or GT/OB grille could do something about that gap. I'll check with my butchered GT grille, see if it's too tall or not.

This. Have you ever seen a third-gen bumper on a second gen? Other than the Blitzen wagon? I haven't. I just didn't want the same old same old Outback or GT bumper, and I sure as hell can't afford a JDM bumper. This isn't the finished product, when I'm done, it'll look a lot better.

This reminds me of my old legacy and the Impreza 2.5RS Bumper.
Actually, that and Yama's picture of the Blitzen-swapped BK were my primary inspiration.

That being said, the Outback flares and the gap caused by them are driving me nuts. So, this is not the final product. I'm not going to spend my money on OB foglights or a tow hook cover. Instead, I'll be on the lookout for a third-gen Legacy bumper. Probably a GT, because if you're gonna go, go all out.

But for now, it is far cooler than the stocker.

Oh, and I got a grey 2nd-gen Outback grille that should fill in the gap a lot better, with a little bit more trimming.

Muse

Actually, if I do bother swapping it out, I'll be looking for the variable intermittent control. All of my other cars (Even my '84 Ram) had variable intermittent, and I've missed it on my Subies.

That's right, I got a Legacy bumper. This should fix the fitment issues caused by the Outback flares. Also, it's a hell of a lot closer to my stock color, and -get this- has both fog lights and the tow hook cover.
I'll get better pics up tomorrow, I hope. this thing is beat to hell, and will need repair. Or zip tie stitches, not sure which I'm going with yet.

I'm working on acquiring a set of snowflakes right now, actually.

I got the bumper cover cut down to fit my car, and tried to put it on, then ran into an issue...
The fog lights hit the bumper beam.
So... I started to cut into the bumper beam, to make room for my fogs, and quickly destroyed my two remaining cutoff wheels. Started to cruise out to Wal-Mart to get new ones, and had to stop and ziptie my fender liners' splash guards up to keep them from scraping the ground. Came home with heavy-duty cutoff wheels, and proceeded to (apparently) overheat my dremel.

Yaay... :smt021

Got this far:
https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2013/12/122413151300_zps530ab6b2-1.jpg (http://s1286.photobucket.com/user/SubaMuse/media/Mobile%20Uploads/1224131513-00_zps530ab6b2.jpg.html)

Muse
12-25-2013, 03:54 PM
Okaay, that side is done, and I got about a third of the way through the other side, before the Dremel overheated again. The Outback bumper is back on again, for now, but I hope to have this bumper on by tomorrow night.

Looking at it side by side, it looks like the grille recess is shorter than the Outback's, so my L grille should fit vertically much better.

I just got a set of third-gen wiper arms for my car, with the airfoil on the driver's arm. The driver's side one is angled a little different, and doesn't line up perfectly, but it doesn't hit anything, and they must have stronger springs or something, because they don't jump and skitter across the windshield like my old ones did.

So, I tried to fit the new Legacy bumper on, but there's one of those stupid, stupid plastic-encased nuts still on it, where Rkrenicki just cut the fender instead of unbolting it. My dremel is out of juice, so that was a pretty failed endeavor. I really didn't want to fight the warped silver bumper to get it back on, so I threw the old Gen3 Outback bumper back on the car. I forgot how much I liked that bumper. I don't want to give up entirely on the blue bumper, but I may have to find myself a tow hook cover and some big fogs to fill in the Outback bumper. It looks great with the snowflakes.

Got my rear strut bar installed, and tried to fit the 3rd-gen rear seat. That's gonna be a bigger project than I thought. Contour of the seat bottom is all wrong, nothing lines up. Neither do the bolt holes. I'm going to try swapping the foam from one metal bottom to the other. Wish me luck.

Plans have changed again... Those are '02-'04 WRX springs... I got 'em for $40 from Grimmrican's brother-in-law. This car is definitely going down, now.

Stock wrx springs won't lower your too much. Look at my 98 wagon. Its on stock wrx springs and wrx spec GR2s. Handling will be vastly improved though. You should get wrx front upper spring perches, conical washer, and top hats. If those are sedan springs you should get saggy butt spacers too.

Yeah doing a manual swap for an H6 is something I would consider, but only after I graduate college and pay off my student loans (priorities man). Plus I still enjoy my 01' wagon and as long as it doesn't get too rusted, I plan to keep it for at least another 2 years.

Honestly, that would be a dream build for me. D-type H6 Outback wagon, customized to accept a USDM '03-'04 OB bumper,* Savanna Green Metallic 07V on top, Silverstone 19X cladding. slip an STi 6-speed behind that H6, and drop it down on Bilsteins with either STi Pinks, or (In a perfect world) STi Blacks. Then throw on a set of dark gold/light bronze 17" or 18" Volk TE-37s. Add in some JDM RSK/Blitzen seats, and you got yourself my ideal car.

*I know it won't line up perfectly with the D-type hood, that's the fun part. I figure the top half of a curbed up D-type bumper grafted to the bottom half of the USDM OB bumper

Muse

So, while nowhere near as extensive as Rkrenicki and Lancaster6's respective Beigectomies, I've declared a Jihad upon the stupid, ugly stock green interior of my car. Fortunately for my Greenectomy, I only have the seats and door cards to worry about. Progress so far (undocumented due to a project that my mother's claimed my camera for (GRR!!!)) consists of swapping out the door cards for grey ones from Grimmrican's old parts BK, and the rear seat bottom.
For the seats, I'm using third-gen Legacy seats from the part-out car that Rkrenicki and I bought. The fronts should go in fine, once I decide to do them, though I'll either have to wire up the power driver's seat, or swap the base with the manual third-gen seat I currently have in it.
The rear seat bottom would not fit at all, so I stripped the foam and cloth off of both seat bottoms and carefullt cajoled the differently-shaped third-gen cloth and foam onto my second-gen seat bottom. Bolted it back up and it looks pretty good.
The seatback, though... I have no idea if this is even a doable thing. Brackets are definitely different, though I've yet to remove and test-fit it. It might be a simple little modification needed, or I might have to give up on folding them down like some with WRX wagon rears do. Or it could be a waste of my time and energy. BUT, I'm not going to get discouraged that easy.

Well...
Not yet.

Death to green! Together, we shall rid the world of funky interior colors. No cloth too green nor leather too tan will be able to stand the wrath of our interior swapping madness.

On a sort-of-but-not-really related note...I tried to swap WRX rear wagon seats into my third gen and I don't think I have ever failed so hard in my life. I don't think there's a way to get them in cleanly, and still retain the 60/40 split action. None of the brackets line up and it's just an all around bad time. So I'm jealous that you second gen guys can swap them in. *kicks dirt*

So, my roommate moved out, and I lost the internet with him gone... I'm still alive, the car is still running.

I swapped the radiator for the one in my parts car. No more slow leak! Also, changed the center console back to black. The silver looked great, but it showed grime so quickly.

Updates!
-I've taken the diver's fender from my parts car for Ivan, so My accidental harlequinization continues with a white fender...
(God, it kills me that my parts car cost me four times what my daily did. LOL)
Also put the parts car's rear trunk carpeting in this car, and swapped my center console back to black. Problem is, I'm stuck using the A/T console with the bezel popped out.

New parts being offered to me. Gonna have to save my money and eat ramen for a while, but I'm getting them. One guy I know just bought his wife an OBS with some aftermarket muffler. It's rather large at the end, possibly a 4" tip, but it looks like the inlet is 2.5" expanding to 3" just before the muffler. I think I'll be able to use it without lack of backpressure issues, as long as I keep the rest of my exhaust stock. It has a silencer insert, too, so that'll probably help. He wants $50 for it. and my neighbor offered to weld it up for me, as he needs practice. (He's got the 'make it work right' part down, but he is still working on making his welds pretty)

Another guy I know is parting out two Outbacks and a Legacy, so I'm gonna go by his place soon. Definitely getting a scooped hood, possibly a rear hatch with a spoiler, and if they're any good, the rear struts from the Legacy, as mine are shot. If they're bad... I dunno, maybe I'll go Outback height until I can afford my WRX stuff.

I'm going green! Like, literally. I just picked up my green scooped Outback hood. It looks real nice, but since I'm typing this on a flip phone, pictures will have to wait until I get internet back on Tuesday.
I will probably be getting some doors and at least a left rear patch panel from this guy, too. Unfortunately, none of the three cars had good struts at all.

50 bucks!

It's got it's battle scars, but it sounded good (if lacking a bit for want of UELs) on the car it was on before this, a bugeye Outback Sport that was obviously not treated well. So... Got the engine cover securely mounted now, not just sitting on top of the motor.

Also, got up under the car with the new muffler. I'm not going to have to extend it or anything, and I think the exhaust hangers are all going to line up. Just gonna get a V-band clamp, and my neighbor is going to help me weld it up.

Well, I went to the 11th annual SL-i New England meet, blown struts and all. And my car tried to kill me. There was this one set of bumps in the middle of a curve that nearly caused me to swap ends in the middle of 95. That was scary. But I got to the meet, and voila, everyone there pitched in to get them swapped for the new set I had in the car with me. The tophats were pretty mangled, so it's a really good thing I bought a fresh set of those, too. Thanks again to everyone who helped, Rkrenicki, Grimmrican, Dodik, Thenines, and... I'm not sure who else, I know other people pitched in, too...

Anyhow, the car rides like a dream again, I'm no longer in fear for my life driving.

I also picked up an Outback rear bumper to add to the aggressiveness of my car. Well, okay, more like eliminate some of the boring L-trim level from the car. Thanks again to Nikolaus.conrad for that. I'm waiting for pictures to appear of it being used as 'Fort Outback' by Casey (I think? God, I'm bad with names.)

Now just remove that stupid silencer! Nothing worse than putting a nice exhaust on only to cock block it with a silencer smaller than the factory pea shooter! N/A's are just quieter than turbos anyway (when not wide open throttle), they won't drone at cruise like a turbo, even with a 5" tip on a straight through canon!

Ran into a little rattle, trimmed the bumper undertray, and nearly got rid of it, but there's a small screw and tab still making contact. Gotta get those trimmed off with an angle grinder or something. My Dremel won't fit.

Also threw a P0420, Catalytic Converter Efficiency Below Threshold code. I think this is due to my unwrapped UEL header. It did this once before, and I took it to AAP to use their code scanner. I had to scan it as if it were a 1996, though, as that's the furthest back they go. The first time I cleared the code, the car didn't want to idle for a few days. I could drive it fine, but without giving it gaas, it would try to stall. Then about 3 days/50 miles later, it cleared up and ran great. This time, I cleared the code in the same manner, it tried to stall out once, right after starting it up, and hasn't acted up since.

Buy a plug fowler at NAPA http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Catal ... 0375753140 (http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Spark-Plug-Non-Fouler-Adapter/_/R-NDP7302442_0375753140)
You drill the center out and reinstall your O2 sensor along with resetting the computer and your problems are over with the annoying check engine light. I put up with the light forever because when it was giving me a P0420 the car was running perfect just eating more fuel then usual. Now I have no isues and better fuel mileage. $7 is all it was. It was a HELP part that is a universal piece.

Exhaust rattle is fixed, as is the leak. Got a long flex pipe section welded in, but had to delete the resonator. Car sounds okay now. Would sound better, except some jackwagon used RTV to glue the silencer into the muffler... *shakes head* some people...

Also, I'm planning on picking up a set of EJ22t heads from a friend of mine. Gonna attempt a slow-build of a low-boost motor. But before I can do the motor, I'm looking at buying my first motorcycle. A (different) friend of mine is selling (most of) an '89 Ninja 250, it's missing the fairings from being dropped, but all the gear to make it rideable (though not legal) has been replaced. So, it needs a headlight and front turn signals. Then, bike!

And I may be looking at a newer Outback. Former Texas car, no rust on the rear, but it sideswiped something, right headlight, fender and driver's door are gonna need replacement, as will the bumper. But, hey, that's why I grabbed that bumper from the dumpster a while back, right? it's a sign... right?
Guy wants $700 for it, which seems perfectly reasonable. Now I just gotta figure out how to get $700 with no credit and a minimum-wage job.

Muse

So, nearly six months later and my beloved car is giving up the ghost on me. The rust is getting worrisome, I keep having to chase down exhaust leaks and now I've got a CV axle binding up occasionally. I think. I know it needs replacement. But, on the bright side, my taxes have just come in today. And the crashed Texas BH is still available. So, I think we're hearing the final throes of my 2nd-gen ownership streak. Hopefully I'll have more to tell you guys on Saturday.

Interesting fact, this is the first car I've ever had last long enough to need to be re-registered. Sadly I found this out when I got a ticket for driving an unregistered vehicle, as the DMV got my address wrong and I never got the invitation to renew.

Went to see the BH today. Sitting around has taken it's toll on the alternator, but we got it running on a jump pack. Car sounded a little rough at first, but smoothed out quickly. It will be coming home with me soon. I think it's an '03, but it might be an '04. It's a post-facelift car, at the least. Might be a limited.

Things I know it needs:
-Bumper cover/beam.
-Right headlight.
-Right front fender.
-Right front door (works fine, but is gouged badly.)
-Right front tire has a gouge in the sidewall from the accident. Which is a shame, because the tires look practically new.
-Alternator (Might be getting one free from one of their parts cars.)
-Head unit's making a lot of noises. I think the CD player's got issues.
-Blower control knob is missing, inside looks messed up, so I'll probably just replace the entire HVAC controls.

Things I'm not sure of:
-Condition of right front suspension components. I'm fairly confident they didn't take too much damage, if any, but the gouge in the tire does imply they took at least some of the hit. But it was a sideswipe that didn't even do enough damage to hinder the operation of the door that was damaged.

Things it has going for it:
-Heated leather seats.
-Dual sunroof.
-5-speed manual.
-Aftermarket mesh grille of unknown origin.
-Front strut bar of unknown origin.
-$700.00 price tag.

My wife had a 2000 GT limited and I really liked the interior in that car. Miles ahead of my second gens. Good luck with the purchase!

Allow me to apologize to the mods in advance, feel free to clean up any language you need to. But I just got FUCKED. And I am pissed the everloving fuck off, and I need to rant. When I got to the place where the guy was selling the car, he tried to tell me he made a mistake and was thinking of a different car when he'd quoted the price at $700 a few months back. which I'm about 90% sure is bullshit. He claimed that he'd in fact, paid $1100 for it when he took it in trade. I don't have that kind of money, I'm a goddamned minimum-wage delivery driver, and the only fucking reason I have the $700 is because of my taxes coming in. So, it looks like the beat-to-fuck-but-hasn't-quit-yet BK is saved once again, this time by scummy douchebaggery.

Next order of business is replacing the left front axle. Which would've been done weeks ago if he'd fucking said something sooner.

That sucks man. I'm sorry to hear about that. I was excited for you too when it looked like you were going to join the 3rd Gen club. But still, you love your BK, so that's good...right?

For the axle, do you have to change the whole thing, or just the boots (and pants and boots and pants)?

The whole thing. I can get one for $50 from work (employee discount, woohoo!) so it's not too bad. I also need to look into my oil leak. it's pretty nasty. But, hey, I have $700 I'm not spending on a new car. maybe this car can get some TLC.

Poor rear quarters are taking a beating though. Gonna have to get some spray foam in 'em or something real soon. Also, I think I've got a rear strut mount going bad. We just changed them less than two years ago, so if it is, I should be able to get my boss to warrantee it.

Also, an evil plan has come to mind after browsing Speedhunters today.

This has better proportions than an ACTUAL Baja. I am trying to figure out how to get this without losing the whole weatherproof thing.

And I kinda want it to look less sloppy than this one, though I'm not too worried about the back doors working:

Been going back and forth with Subafreak today in regards to the logistics of pickup-ifying the wagon. Not gonna say too much now, but something might be in the planning stage, not just the dreaming one.

There's been an intermittent clunk in the rear of the car on the right side. I think it might be a strut mount going bad, though I'm honestly not sure at all why I think that.

Also looking at a set of new Fuzion Touring tires (They're cheap,) an engine reseal, and a new windshield. If I can't get a new car, I'm gonna make this one better. I hope.

So, my CV axle's been on it's way out, and I'd been putting fixing it off because I thought I was replacing the car. Well, I headed out to work this morning, only to hear a horrible crunching from the front of the car as I turned onto the road. Immediately turned into the gas station across the street, got out and looked, couldn't find a problem. Turned around to the tune of more grinding and crunching and made it into my driveway, where the crunching stopped when I drove straight. Then, I decided 'to hell with it, I either make it or I don't,' and limped across town to my mechanic's. Along the way, it sounded like something bounced off the underside of the car, which could've been a rock, but I think it might've been a piece of CV joint, as the car stopped making crunches at all. Got to my Mech's, and tried to back it into an uphill parking spot. And the car wouldn't move. My thought was just that the drive was muddy and my car was reduced to a RWD vehicle, so I was just spinning in the mud. Later that day, I got a message that the car needs a clutch. I knew it was getting worn out, but it was still grabbing when I drove it. Couldn't get a hold of him, as it was after business hours, so I'm not sure if it's a sudden failure of the clutch, or if he's just telling me to budget for a new one in the next few months.

So, can a busted axle lead to a sudden failure of the clutch, or does he just want me to do it now so that he can do my seals while the engine's out? either way, I'm doing it, but I'm curious as to how badly I screwed the car up.

Also, did a little drawing/concept of the future of the car.

Car is (mostly) better! Tons of fixes went down today, saving my car's life.

Things done:
-Clutch
-Left front axle
-Cam seals
-Cam cap seals
-Crank seal
-Rear main seal
-Valve cover gaskets
-A/C delete

things that still need addressing immediately:
-Right front axle
-Clutch adjustment

Things that need addressing rather soon:
-Windshield
-Tires
-Shifter bushing and return spring
-Rear quarter panel rot

Yes, you read that right, ladies and gents, I had my axle replaced, and it still needs an axle. Hopefully, I can get that done tomorrow or Wednesday, before I lose my backup car to it's owners returning home. Also, I need to adjust the clutch, as it has way too much play before it disengages, over half the pedal is free play before it does anything. It feels like the clutch is disengaging fully when the pedal is depressed, but the travel before that point is disconcerting.

Aaalright! My car is fixed and drives well. The clutch has still got that ridiculous level of play before actually doing anything, but I can turn left and right without fearing for my life! Gonna take it for a bit of a cruise after work tomorrow, see if the clutch is something I can learn to live with or if it's something I need to fix. My mechanic said it's like that because he was having trouble balancing the clutch cable and the hill holder cable. Not exactly sure what he meant by that, but he said to give it a few thousand miles and come back to readjust. Not sure if that's BS or what, but it does drive, so I'm happy.

Took the car for a long drive today and it feels better than it has since I bought it. There's always been a little shimmy when I braked hard. It got worse after a while then went away mostly when I replaced my rotors a few months ago, but it's properly gone now. It might just be placebo effect or something, but it feels like it pulls harder. Sadly, though, the oil leak has not been fully repaired. It has been lessened greatly, but it's not done yet...

What project car ever is?

Oil leak is the pan itself, probably. If not that, the gasket. Bought both in case. Cost me $64, with my employee discount. Also picked up a set of Rally Armor mudflaps from rkrenicki tonight. Can't wait to try them on!

Still waiting to get the oil pan on, the earlier repairs kinda really, brutally murdered my budget. But I do have it ready to go, soon as I get some cash to throw at it.

Had the car down to see rkrenicki today. Traded him my stock 19mm front sway bar for an 18mm bar from a 1990-'94 Legacy, which he then proceeded to whip on there like it was nothing. I guess UELs make for easier removal and install, what with the only going down one side of the engine.
I didn't get any pictures of the bar, but... Erm...
