Washington is doing this as well.
I hope Wisconsin will bring it up sometime soon, I'd love to ditch the front plate. I think it's highly unnecessary, especially since you don't have to put registration stickers on it. And it's a bitch to get the bugs off it :x

Virginia is also making an attempt at this. I don't know how far any of this will go. Thank god WV doesn't require one.

I have mine on the right side of my front dashboard. I took it off cause it looked rediculous and was stuck right in the middle of the radiator. Didn't look like it was any improvement on functionality. So far Ive passed dozens of cops and they havnt minded. I think as long as you have it visible from the front it's chill.

Unless you're in Boulder, CO. Most of Colorado only requires display of the front plate, whether its on the dash or not, but in boulder I've had people tell me the cops there will write tickets to parked cars with plates in the window. Personally I can't stand the reflection of the plate in the windshield.
Are you allowed to bend your state plate into a euro plate (fold the top and bottom in)? Quite a few subaru drivers here do that (tuners anyway). Our state law says only the numbers of the front plate must be visible, while the rear requires state, registration and numbers to all be visible.

No they only give you one sticker and that's for the rear plate.
Even though they have been required for several year now here, a lot of vehicles don't have them. I didn't have my front plate on my previous car for 3 years and never got a ticket for it. Even when a bored cop pulled me over for "going too fast on an on-ramp", he didn't bring up the lack of a front plate. :?
I hate the look of plates on the front, it wouldn't be too bad if they were not as tall like the euro plates.

Really? That's good news to me.
We're required to have one mounted to the front bumper in VA. Mine is on the right side of the dash suction cupped to the window, it's very visible.
It's technically illegal but it's a secondary offense. They usually nab you for it if you're getting an equipment violation or something.

Maybe, but i still like the look without the plates, and in winter it would be a heck of a lot worse for the cops to identify my car because of the snow and dirt that sticks to the rear.
I dipped my plate in Dieselfuel wich makes the plate cover up sooner than anything else on the car.

I liked the old blue and white plates, the new (retro?) yellow ones just seem hideous to me.

AZ no front plates, OR has front and rear plates and tags for both front and rear. i have just pushed my front plate back so if i get caught by a speed camera or a red light it cannot catch it. i have not been pulled over for pushing my plate back even when i got pulled over for my fog lights being on.

I know several people around here that have got trouble from the cops for the plate being in the front window, 2 even got pulled over in their own driveways. Mine has been in the window for over 8 months and driving through Oregon, Washington, and Idaho I havent had any trouble with the cops
