EJ259 info

Noob here I need info on 2004 Ej259 engine. Basic difference's between ej259 and ej253 and weather I can ad performance parts to motor without causing issue with inspection. I would like to add an under drive pulley, full exhaust, and bigger injectors.
Any help will be appreciated.

all i really know is the ej259 is the ULEV (ultra low emission vehicle) motor. the heads are single port, it has 5 O2 sensors and three cats and the intake is setup different. you can run the pulley (though i dont recommend under drive), exhaust you could probably do a cat back. headers and converter would have to be custom, even then it might give you the woes with emissions.
