Hey, noob here, got a 2000 legacy GT wagon I have noticed that when I make a sharp turn at low speeds it creaks and chugs, once I step on the gas or straighten out it stops, suggestions?

Creaking usually happens from suspension. Bogging on the other hand... I'd be prone to treat them as two issues instead of one.
Power steering could be the cause of power loss, and noise while turning, but you'd normally hear a whine from the pump.

I'm assuming this is a 4eat?

I don't hear a whine, its only when at full turn and from a stop, like pulling out of a parking spot, it's not a loss of power, more like something is holding it or catching it somewhere, I don;t see any strange tire wear so I don't think that the tires are hitting anything. I will check the suspension, planning on upgrading the suspension and breaks event.

it is a 4eat (if I understand that right) it's the tiptronic style 4 speed automatic transmission.

oh, binding? I'd say you're looking at suspension almost for sure. I'd get those struts looked at soonish.

Ive had this same issue before. does it happen more when you turn right from a stop? or left? Mine ended up being the axle..yours may be as well. I could feel the clunking sensation as well when turning from a stop until i picked up some speed and was going straight. Chances are, yours is also one or both of the front axles. Check em out.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info, I'll get it on a rack and check it out in the next week. Decided today to do my breaks also so may e I can make a weekend out of it.

Time to hit up an upcycle store, thank God for Japan.

Oh God... yeah could be ujoints or hub too. Axle problems on many years of Subaru are not fun at all. You'd typically get vibration at higher speeds with this iirc.
