I noticed today when all my windows are up and you hit the button to make them go up (lets say to check that its up all the way) its drawing so much power that my radio loses power and my dash lights get dim. Once the button is let go the power comes back.

Time for a new battery or a bigger problem on my hands?

i would say it could be a problem with your window. the motor shouldnt be drawing that much power... does it do it with all your windows or just one?

All of them, from the buttons on the driver's door and each individual button

does it happen when the car is off or on or both?

I wouldnt really call it a problem, motors take a lot of amps when they are under a lot of load. Was the car on or off, idle or driving?

If you really want to try and change it take the door apart and adjust the little pads so they dont push against the window as hard near the top. Side effects include loose rattly windows. You could also replace the battery. Side effects include light wallet and no real change after a few days (our charging systems are the suck)

the car was off.. I just had it on ACC to reset my radio when I noticed it

In that case, I agree with:

I wouldnt really call it a problem, motors take a lot of amps when they are under a lot of load.

I have an Optima red cap and that cuts the problem. With the stock batteries I would say that would happen to just about any car. It shouldn't happen when the car is running... or else there is definately a problem

Id say your battery is toast...
Sounds like its not holding a strong charge very long. My subaru does the same thing with the window power.

yeah, it definitely sounded like the battery. I notice a slight dim in the lights at idle when I mess around with the power windows, but nothing more.

mine does that with any window button or the sun roof, when the car is running or not running.
