alright... the people that went up to wellsboro for the rally were interested in going back up for a "SL-i rally" of our own. so when is everybody available? let's get the ball rolling already... i have a wagon that's screaming for some sideways action. 8)

strat81
06-17-2006, 07:08 PM

strat81
06-19-2006, 03:38 PM
anybody have a date in mind?

redlegacygt
06-20-2006, 08:06 AM
as soon as possible... nah jk, anything really works for me as long as its the weekend. (which im sure is what works for mostly everyone ). I'd say that the only weekend i dont think i could do would be the weekend of the 4x4 jamboree which is july 7th-9th...

ivwarrior
06-20-2006, 11:54 PM
I might tag along, depending on my schedule. Probably gonna be pretty busy much of the summer, though.

belladonna
06-21-2006, 11:09 AM
august

dropdfocus
06-22-2006, 07:30 PM
August does sound good. Middle of the month would be best.

deadlydave
07-05-2006, 01:32 PM
whereabouts is wellsboro? Some off-roading sounds pretty schweet.

belladonna
07-06-2006, 11:57 AM
from albany, you're looking at about 4 hours i would think to get to wellsboro....it's due west of Mansfield, pa if you know where that is...

redlegacygt
07-06-2006, 06:33 PM
and its worth every hour of that drive!! seriously though, if you want to do some off-roading then this place definetly had some good places. Lets make this event as big as possible.....

dropdfocus
07-06-2006, 07:44 PM
You bringing your brother along for the gathering?

I had to replace the passenger front CV shaft, wheel bearing, and ball joint on the wife's car. They were all shot on the trip up to the rally. I didn't think they were that bad, but I guess so. The driver side will be replaced very soon. May have new tires & upgraded brakes by then too (at least tires for sure).

redlegacygt
07-07-2006, 09:07 AM
yeah i'll prob. bring my brother, however he might drive this time. He might take mom's 91 legacy wagon  .... Also a buddy of mine with an 05 impreza might come up, but it depends when he goes back for college.

dropdfocus
07-07-2006, 09:19 AM
That's why I figured mid August would be best (college).
I'm almost hoping it is muddy so we can play even harder!

belladonna
07-09-2006, 09:09 AM
we have two more guys from around here that are interested in going so let's try to set a date....

how about august 26 or even september 2?

dropdfocus
07-09-2006, 01:34 PM
I personally vote for Aug. 26th...

strat81
07-11-2006, 06:10 PM
should be fine for me...

jess... when does the series fall this year?

redlegacygt
07-12-2006, 08:08 AM
i believe the series falls the Aug 18th 19th and 20th becaue its the same weekend as the 4 wheel jamboree (since it was cancelled).

That day should also work for me. hell, i'll make sure any day works for me.

dropdfocus
07-12-2006, 08:32 AM
Yeah, after using Google I found it was rescheduled to the 3rd week of August.

belladonna
07-13-2006, 08:59 AM
the series is the 18th through the 27th this year...i have to tell them that i start school the 21st and will have limited times i can work, but i could get that day off since it's so close to the end...

dropdfocus
07-13-2006, 09:02 AM
So the 26th is starting to sound like a good date for everyone?

belladonna
07-14-2006, 12:31 PM
yep, looks like that is sounding like the date

belladonna
07-31-2006, 08:53 AM
so August 26 is the definate dates...we need to get a time set. i was thinking of meeting up at the Hepburnville exit around 8 a.m. how's that sound?

these are the people that are coming so far...

redlegacygt (Astin)
dropdfocus (Jason)
strat81 (Spence)
Brandon - silver 02-03 WRX
Ryan - red impreza wagon
Eric - white legacy sedan

these are maybes
Shea - blue 2.5RS
McElroy - black WRX

dropdfocus
07-31-2006, 07:50 PM
If Brandon & Eric are going, then likely Chris & Andrea will go too.

legacy92ej22t
07-31-2006, 11:02 PM
R U guys actually going to be running the stages at high speeds, as in people monitoring the area with radios or is it going to be more like what we did at the Corning meet?

belladonna
08-01-2006, 01:53 AM
If Brandon & Eric are going, then likely Chris & Andrea will go too.

not necessarily...andrea didn't really show any interest and if andrea isn't interested then the chances of her letting chris go are small :-?

brandon has run the stages before. he's going to be like a guide. we'll have radios and will probably run certain areas multiple times for video and pictures

redlegacygt
08-01-2006, 08:02 AM
im sure some of us will definetly run them at high speeds and some of us wont. but atleast we'll be prepared for things.lol are we just going to pick certain spots now, or just figure all that out when everyone arrives at hepburnville?

dropdfocus
08-01-2006, 08:30 AM
Likely travel the roads and pick some of the best spots for that day.

redlegacygt
08-01-2006, 09:44 AM
yea thas what i figured.

strat81
08-01-2006, 02:38 PM
brandon knows the roads up there pretty well. he is from wellsboro and has run them a bunch of times.

i dunno how fast the wagon will be going down these roads but i can guarantee a creek crossing if the water isn't too high

pamike
08-01-2006, 10:02 PM
what all goes on at these meets. i've never been to one. i can't make it this time but maybe next time.

dropdfocus
08-01-2006, 10:05 PM
What water Spence? With the latest weather, we'll be having fun creating a dust storm with our cars...

strat81
08-02-2006, 01:44 AM
let's just say they don't call it the "subaru splash" for nothing

redlegacygt
08-02-2006, 08:15 AM
i cant wait to let it rip on some of those roads. hopefully we wont have to sit the back of anyone's trunk to get them out of a ditch :cough::cough:

dropdfocus
08-02-2006, 09:12 AM
Nice stab there Astin... I believe it's: "Go big or go home." Right?

belladonna
08-02-2006, 09:12 AM

hey, it wouldn't be a subaru meet if someone didn't get a little too offroad

dropdfocus
08-02-2006, 09:17 AM
It will likely be me again Jess. I like to let it all hang out... *wink*

redlegacygt
08-02-2006, 09:29 AM
haha indeed indeed. like i said earlier, atleast we'll be prepared this time and i'll definetly have to bring the Cannon XL 2 to get real good video

dropdfocus
08-02-2006, 09:37 AM
Well, the car is all fixed now since the STPR. Had to replace CV shaft, wheel bearing & ball joint on the pass side. Still need to change it on the driver side to balance it all out. Lately the MAF sensor or the fuel sending unit have been acting up, but I'll have that all taken care of by the 26th for sure!
I'll bring my tow rope so Spencer has 2 to use for when I bomb the hills sideways.

strat81
08-02-2006, 03:04 PM
i was just going to say... i'll have to get some vinyl letters that say "jason's towing crew" for the wagon.

dropdfocus
08-02-2006, 07:33 PM
Aww, that's so very nice of you SMART A$$...

08-03-2006, 08:33 PM

dropdfocus
08-03-2006, 09:12 PM
I'm sorry, what time was that again?

belladonna
08-04-2006, 07:37 AM

I'll make sure to have some good road racing music put together on the iPod for that day.

belladonna
08-19-2006, 10:15 AM
time change for the meet up at hepburnville...it's now 10 a.m. since Brandon doesn't get off work that morning until noon...

i have everyone's phone numbers so i'll call next week unless you post here

legacy92ej22t
08-19-2006, 10:29 AM
I do know about the meet but I was laying low in case I couldn't make it. Well, I just blew my second tranny in 9 months so there is no way I'll be coming. The car drives but first is fucked and I need to baby the hell out of it so I can just drive to work.

Starting out in second is awesome.....

Have fun everyone!

Wiscon_Mark
08-19-2006, 10:35 AM
what?!

I think it's time for a PPG tranny.

Or a dogbox.

You wouldn't be able to kill one of those.

legacy92ej22t
08-19-2006, 11:23 AM
Nah, I think it's just time for a new car. I'm sick of f$#king with this thing. It's probably going to be a part out, then something cheap for a while until I can pick up a bug eyed WRX wagon.

Wiscon_Mark
08-19-2006, 11:35 AM
Nice choice. Bugeye wagons are great!

dropdfocus
08-19-2006, 04:28 PM
I'm sorry to hear about that bro... If you need any help, you know how to get ahold of me.

redlegacygt
08-19-2006, 09:29 PM
sorry to hear that matt.. i've also thought about gettin at bugeye'ed wagon.. but i cant find the one i want..lol

dropdfocus
08-19-2006, 09:34 PM
Most definately silver is the way to go! Or you could honor your current car and go white again...

belladonna
08-19-2006, 09:45 PM
sorry to hear that matt.. i've also thought about gettin at bugeye'ed wagon.. but i cant find the one i want..lol

Owen's is for sale still i believe...

sorry to hear that matt...i've been looking for WRXs in the area and no one seems to have any. W&L has a 2002 but it's a sedan

strat81
08-20-2006, 02:24 AM
fwiw... brandon isn't working on saturday as his last day at advanced was today so whatever time we want to go is good...

dropdfocus
08-20-2006, 09:04 AM
Ok, coolness!

redlegacygt
08-20-2006, 01:53 PM
yeah i looked at the sedan one. I talked to matt at W@L and they want $15 for it. It has something like 42,000 miles on it or more. However he said its a lemon law. The guy who bought it new said it had a rough idle. Matt said they've looked it over up and down and its perfectly fine. He said the guy never owned a subaru before if that means anything.... Its very nice though. It looks new in and out...

belladonna
08-20-2006, 04:43 PM
fwiw... brandon isn't working on saturday as his last day at advanced was today so whatever time we want to go is good...

fine, whatever...since i'm organizing this it would have been nice to know...you can do that now spencer

dropdfocus
08-20-2006, 07:22 PM
I can't wait!!! This is going to be a blast going through the same roads as Pastrana & Block with our cars!

It's a good thing I have a new job at a Subaru Used Car Lot/Garage. The car has a check engine light on & we think it may be the knock sensor. It retards the timing when it comes on (it slows down acceleration). All the bugs must be worked out so I can go balls to the wall in Wellsboro!!!

P.S. I am having A2D Towing Crew stickers made up (Jess & Spencer).

redlegacygt
08-20-2006, 08:37 PM
yeah, this is definetly going to be a blast...i can hardly wait...

 let's GO! haha! i'm ready for some rally action! who's bringing a video camera?

dropdfocus
08-20-2006, 11:06 PM
Um.... Dunno? I know my camera will likely be out of comission while it gets looked at under the service plan through Staples.

Wiscon_Mark
08-20-2006, 11:07 PM
Doesn't Spencer always have a camcorder?

belladonna
08-20-2006, 11:07 PM
i think brandon has one...spence has his camera that takes vid...

dropdfocus
08-20-2006, 11:10 PM
I'm sure someone will have it covered. I believe Astin will have his like he did at the STPR event.

belladonna
08-20-2006, 11:31 PM
ah, i forgot about astin's...good call jason

strat81
08-21-2006, 01:10 AM
alright... since this is being passed on to me... 10am at the hepburnville exit like we did for stpr. if your a newb for this one, just look for a bunch of subarus to your left (under the underpass and on the left is a gravel lot that we'll use to meet in) when you get to the stop sign at the bottom of the on ramp.

if you're going for sure, sound off so we have a list of who to wait for in case somebody's running late. if i you have a cell #, pm it to me unless i already have your number... i'll pm ya back with mine too so you have a way to get in touch with us.

as for video... my friend lyle is gonna ride along and get some vid with his digital camcorder. also, i'll have my camera that does stills and vid. anybody else is obviously welcome to bring cameras as well.

dropdfocus
08-21-2006, 07:31 AM

It was a FRIGGIN' blast!!! If I didn't have a thermostat/cooling issue, I would have been going more nutso up at Colton's Point... Even though I replaced a knock sensor first thing in the moring to ensure good engine health.

We did have some close calls on accidents (Jess...), but everyone came out ok. While in town, I don't think Wellsboro knew what to do when 9 Subarus of all makes showed up muddy for no real reason.

The group pretty much got chased out of Colton's Point by DCNR at the end of the day, but we were already on the way out as it was. Brandon "B.West" almost tagged him because we were haulin' a$$ on the way out and he went tight on the inside of a corner to come out of it looking at the grill of an SUV.

I must say riding with Brandon is an experience for sure. I never once felt like there was any danger in his speed while approaching hair pin corners. I just wish my 2.5GT was much more healthy so I could have beaten it up while pegging 2nd gear broad side through the corners over & over... Oh well. All & all, a d@mn good day if I do say so.

Astin & I were thinking of a winter meet up there. Trudge through the snow and beat down our own path where the road is not likely going to get plowed out.

Anyone else find the humor in this picture? A line of 9 cars where the pavement states "TRUCKS".

belladonna
08-27-2006, 11:47 AM
definately was a bunch of fun  and i wasn't the only one who came close to tagging a tree (Ryan...*cough, cough*) and let's not forget about Shea tearing his rear valence off...and just for the record that only happened because i was hugging the inside corner and didn't have ample time to react to brandon yelling "CAR!!!"

jason - i agree. riding with brandon was awesome. i never felt anxious about his speed going into those corner. amazing talent

not sure what kind of pix i got yet. i have to get them off my card and onto my computer, which i'll probably do today at some point. so yeah...

astin - will you be compiling everything onto one CD or do you want me to compile a photo CD and you can take care of video?

dropdfocus
08-27-2006, 11:53 AM
I didn't know about Ryan almost kissing a tree with his wagon. I do envy Brandon very much for being up in that area to go play on the roads whenever he wants. I lived closer, I'd be up there all too often braking parts while going balls to the wall. He knows those roads too well. I'm calling a friendly challenge down Rt. 15 from the Turkey Ranch.

belladonna
08-27-2006, 11:57 AM
haha! i'm telling brandon! you need to learn wallis run or sulphur springs and take him there

and you know that mike kid was hanging with us coming off steam valley.

so yeah...pix to come!

dropdfocus
08-27-2006, 12:06 PM
I wasn't trying really. Just maintaining a solid speed going down. I would have lost him w/o a problem, but I decided to stay under 70mph for safety in the rain. I didn't expect you to push too hard with the lack of good wet traction from the winter tires.

belladonna
08-27-2006, 01:09 PM
yeah, i was just surprised he went that fast going down since he's not from around here

i have more but they are just different angles of the group parked together and a few rolling shots of everybody else.

i didn't get too many pics after the water crossing as i was driving most of the time.

lyle got some good video footage and he told me he'd get it to me asap. his brother lannar got some footage with his camera phone too so i'll get that off him as well.

Wiscon_Mark
08-27-2006, 04:45 PM

with those tires, I'd almost be more worried about traction on pavement vs. traction on dirt ;)

dropdfocus
08-27-2006, 05:18 PM
Ah yes, the beloved steering wheel flick. It seems a few people need to work on that for next time (Mike, Shaun, & Ryan).

Spencer was setting up very well in the corners after a few pointers from Brandon & I, but the 2.2/AT where holding him back from carrying good speed through the corners.

Brandon told me later he was a slight bit paranoid about sliding out into the swamp. I totally understand that one.

i would just like to say that this event was AWESOME. Brandon's driving skills were awesome, and just getting the advice he gave to everyone ripping it up was well worth the trip. It was great meeting new people and seeing everyone and having one hell of a time. I think we should be doing these events more often! Real quick, as for the video, what i'll do is start putting the compilation together, then i'll have people send their pictures and video's and i'll add them to the mine. Then i'll put them on DVD and anyone who wants a copy can get one, sound good? if not just let me know and we can work something out!

PS. I'll be sure too post some teaser vids as well

Ok already, so I was wrong about the possibility of water entering his air box... Yeesh.  j/k

Yeah, Spencer DRENCHED the air filter in his factory box & it shut the car down. Thankfully it was as he was coming up our side of the embankment.

The "Tow Crew" writing was from yours truely. I didn't get time to get decals made, so it looked like a good spot to advertise on his car.

how about it. I just thought it was funny because he took the line "we were just taking pictures"... as everyone drove by with mud coverd cars

 yeah, uh huh...that's EXACTLY what we were doing

eh... the nose wasn't deep enough to worry about hydrolocking. it was an awesome time though.

astin... it'll probably be a bit before my friend gets his vid on a computer as his work schedule is pretty crazy. i'll make sure it gets to ya though. i've seen it and it's pretty cool.

Damn, looks like it was a super fun meet. I wish I could have gone. Maybe next time I guess......if I fix the tranny that is.

Man, I didn't even think about it but I could have just gone to be a photographer/videoagrapher and rode with one of you. Oh well. :(

Well, i think that its about time i added my two-cents in here. It was a GREAT meet! although i apparently have something against DCNR (as shown by my defensive driving). Considering all the happenings, it was a well worth it trip. next time you all want to do this, just say something to me and we will get it around! now...i must be gone...off to Sheetz! (as usual) leave'm hot, or call! -Brandon

Ah, Mr. Modest himself...  It was a ton of fun to hang with ya in your back country Brandon! I've been toying with the idea of a Loyale wagon with a 2.2 turbo motor/tranny swap just to play with, but I have to finish my other projects first (KZ550 sport bike upgrade, project V8 Nissan H-body, & project 'bagged Chevy C-10).

Okay, finally the long awaited video for the SLi Wellsboro meet is finished. It took me so long because of the hold up with the equipment i was using, mainly the editing software. I think it turned out ok, but i know i could definetly do better. Hope everyone likes it!.

As for those who would like copies. I can send you a copy online by email ( i think) or give it to you on a cd. HOWEVER, i will be able to make DVD"s for all those who may want them. What i planned on doing was maybe taking the video i did for the Rally, and the video i did for this meet, plus any pictures, and putting them on a DVD for anyone who wants. As far as DVD's go, i can custimize them. If people want certain pictures for a slideshow of their car on there, i can maybe make something like that. Just let me know. As of right now, i wont charge anyone just so that we can get more people involved, and just so everyone can have a little momento for coming out to the meets. If you feel like making a donation then thats fine but like i said, its not necessary. If i forgot anything, just let me know. If it seems like im in a hurry, i am cause i got alot of work to do, but wanted to take care of this first!.haha
I hope everyone enjoy's the movie and just let me know who wants what.!

i think i have a few small clips of everybody rolling along. actually i know i have a short vid with each person rolling by and their name displayed as they pass...

i can email it to ya if you want. i also have pics from the shootout, wellsboro, and the corning meet. i still haven't been able to get the video from lyle from wellsboro and the shootout (i had his vid camera for the shootout)

redlegacygt
10-21-2006, 11:25 AM
yeah that sounds good. you guys can send me whatever you guys feel should be on the dvds. I should be starting the Shootout vid here shortly. so yea, send me whatever.lol. just pm when you get what you want to send and i'll give you the email to send it too.

PS. i just watched the video a little bit ago and i noticed that you might not be able to read the words when brandon is crossing the water after that jeep. it says " this jeep went across but couldnt go any further. Brandon came to their rescue". Sorry if you guys coulndt read it.

Ok, I asked on nasioc, but I have to know, does anyone have details on Brandon's exhaust setup? I take it he still has the OBS 2.2 motor in there. And the exhaust clip sounded awesome! Not too deep, just the right midrange exhaust note. Please let me know if any of you know! I added him on AIM to see if I can talk to him, but in the meanwhile, I'll just ask you guys.

To my knowledge, the exhaust on his wagon was a straight pipe. I believe he eliminated the muffler.

12-11-2006, 03:10 PM
Thats what the pictures looked like. There's a guy in my dorm parking lot with a straight piped outback sport as well, and it wasn't that loud at all when he was cruising out of here.

strat81
12-14-2006, 08:43 PM
stock exhaust with the muffler cut off and just a piece of 3" pipe welded in it's place...

although, he ditched the wagon and bought a turbo leg.
