need a quick answer.. painting side skirts

hey! (leg 98 GT sedan) I'm paint side skirts right now and i was wondering what to do with the rubber band up the molding. spaying it like this, removing it or removimng it spraying it and re-install it after... let me know ASAP someone who already done this mod. thanks

Never done it on a legacy, but most I've seen don't have that strip painted. Remove it, paint, and put it back on. The paint will chip off the flexible rubber otherwise.

I painted mine. Painted the rubber too. Painted it all gunmetal along with side mirrors, spoiler, and rims. Check it out in Members Rides if you want to see how it came out > havnt had any problems painting rubber. I used a paint adhesion promoter first coat (helps it stick well).
