Is there anyway to fit an 03-04 impreza short ram intake into my 98 legacy wagon? They look to be very similar. Any ideas, suggestions? Or has anyone made their own short ram??

You can use it, but you'll end up having to cut some of the piping off and get another coupler to attach the intake pipe to your maf.

It would need to be modified to work with your MAF sensor for sure. EGR/PCV lines may be different, too, as they're a from a completely different series of motor.

Do you have a link of what you have in mind? It might help.

Hmmm I see. Well there's no link because it's on eBay. But as far as putting
It in, is it worth the effort/trouble. I know I can buy one from cosmo for 100 something. But this one is 20$. So idk if it's really even worth it?

You can provide links to ebay listings. Just copy/cut + paste from your address bar, like this:

The one I posted is a turbo short ram intake, and will not work with your car without serious modifications (not worth it). If it looks like this, then no, it's not one to get.

Honestly, I'll tell you what I tell everyone who looks at doing an intake - it's a waste of time & money. Aftermarket intakes provide no real performance benefit on Subarus that aren't pushing 250-300HP+. If you're looking for a nice sound, just gut the intake silencer for free.

I see. Us this something I can do myself. Or do I have to take it to a shop to get it done properly? Let's say I can't get it to fit/work. How much could I sell the 03-04 impreza rs sri for??

How easy it is depends on your mechanical ability. If you are asking if you can o it yourself then I would shy away for that reason, and because it won't do anything worth what it may cost regardless. Money better spent on future maintenance or worthwhile modifications.

So it's not worth it at all?

You have already had a few people tell you why it is not worth it, and have yet to see anyone tell you that it is worth it.

Nobody here has anything to gain by telling you it is not worth it. Gut the intake silencer if you want noise (and it's free), or go waste money on something that will not fit without modifications and still do nothing but look like an earring on a wildebeest.

The best money you could spend on your intake is a 90-94/95 intake pipe, it removes the gigantic "torque box" at the throttle body. Make sure you grab the pcv hoses that run to each valve cover, they are shorter for the "torque box" and having the right ones will make life easier. Pull the snorkus out of the fender well and enjoy the noise from that. There really is nothing to gain with an aftermarket intake pipe untill you get into higher power levels.
