Man the forum looks great! Has been quite a few years. My name is Jeremy, the original member #0 of this site and the one that started the site long ago :smt023 For some reason (no pun intended) :) my old log in is not working, I forgot it... or something. What brings me back is that I finally own a legacy! :smt007 Bought her as a family fun car. She is a 2005 outback XT limited with 71K miles on her clock. Car was one owner - Tucson Az car and in good condition cosmetically however she has needed some real TLC mechanically. Here is the fun I have had in the last 30 days.... :smt021
- Changed OCV's
- Changed PCV and hoses
- K&N Air filter - drop in and cabin filter
- Front / rear diff fluid
- AT fluid
- Oil changed to T6 5w40 with a wix 57712 filter
- All 4 wheel bearings
- All 4 axles with re-mans
- Brakes / rotors on all 4 corners
- Windows tinted DARK
- New battery
- Cleaned and polished the headlights back to new
- STI gauge pack on the way, will install this next weekend
- 18G on the way soon with 660 injectors and pump. Already removed the banjo filter for the stock turbo which surprisingly is in good shape.
- 4wheel alignment
- Removed the entire interior, cleaned every panel and pressure washed / shampooed the carpet (D A M N YOU IVORY INTERIOR)
- Put in weathertech laser fit floor mats front and rear with an OEM cargo mat

I would like to do the valve body mod to her as the 5eat is so damn slow that it drives me nuts. However already blew a wad on the basics so far and the wife put a padlock on the wallet. I also am trying to track down the OEM 2007 6 disk radio to add MP3 and Aux in. Anyways plenty of time to go and lots to do. But glad to be back and hope to learn a lot from all of you veterans! Will get some pics soon of the new family battle wagon.

Back in the day as legend has it - I was handed the reigns of a terrible yahoo forum which apparently I still have as I get new member requests from time to time. Back then, the legacy and outbacks were getting zero love and were just a footnote on other forums. So I decided to start up a dedicated forum for legacy members since the free yahoo forum sucked so badly. That is how this forum was born. As some years passed, I never purchased a legacy as I was more into my Mr2's, show car builds and so forth. I had little time for this forum as I was so busy with kids, work, life and business.

At the time I relied almost 100% on my moderators (which is great to see their names on here still) to make the forum better and better. Finally it came to the point that a transfer in ownership was made as I was not near the enthusiast at the time - not even owning a legacy and I did not feel I was giving the forum the attention it should have. Overall it was and is in much better hands!

When I purchased my xt last month, I jumped back online and saw that sl-i was still going strong which was great! And after the initial whirlwind of working on the car, I decided to try to log on.. that did not work so I just re-joined the forum. Overall just happy to be back as a simple member and a legacy owner!

BTW my original user name was Desertheatracing :smt023

Welcome back, man it's definitely been a long time, even though it doesn't seem like it.. I remember your legacy, it was sweet! Didn't you have a sweet scion after you got rid of the legacy?

Thanks guys! I had an impreza outback sport back in the day - no legacy but yes you remember correctly one of my rides was a tC show car I built. Went on to win 15 major shows taking 1st or best of show at each. That car is long gone though, sold it in 2008. I currently have....
05 Outback XT (The family battle wagon)
08 Scion xD (stock daily driver appliance)
00 Avalon (wife's daily beater mommy car)
93 Mr2 turbo (in process of a full restoration and swap. Has been a long slow process)
81 Toyota 4x4, all original and has been in the family since new

Replaced my AC idler pulley yesterday as it was squeaking.

I also pulled all of my fuel injectors to have them serviced - tested at AUSinjection.com as they are local to me. I have a bit of a rough idle and tossing on occasion the dreaded p0304 code on #4. Just want to rule out fuel as a clogged injector is usually a precursor to the valve issues that plague our cars. Did not find any vac leaks or manifold leaks but have not done compression yet. So if it is not fuel related, then it will probably be the all to common burned valve issue. Yaaaah me! Ah well not so bad to pull the motor and heads. Just irritating.

:smt021 hahaha I had a classified post removed because I did not meet the criteria :smt023 DOH! Damn not even any street cred lol All good - gotta follow the rules.

Good news - having the injectors serviced fixed the rough idle on the car and #4 has stopped tossing a code! Man dodged a bullet for now. Since I know the valves are sealing properly now, I think checking clearance soon is in order so I do not torch any.

The injector tests does not look like much but the difference between #4 flowing 13.5 vs 15 is 11%. AUS did a great job refurbishing them. Dropped them off in the morning and had them back by 2!
