Ej22 swap to ej22 but staying NA

Curious... Have a 2.2 and need to do headgaskets and everything... Found a 94 ej22t sohc long block rebuilt for pretty cheap. Has everyone swapped a ej22t and kept it NA? Not really trying to boost right now and do a full swap, more interested in swapping my intake manifold onto the ej22t and dropping it in... I read a little on compression being different but no idea how the car will run or even if it will...

That thing will be a pig without boost, they've got 8.0:1 compression to start with. Power and I'd say fuel mileage will suffer pretty badly

Yeah I will just get a td04 and open source tune it for the time being. Found a thread someone did and it ran like crap and just really slow
