Alright, I have been wanting for a very long time to go turbo and have been doing research for about a year now. To start, I am calling on everyone that has experience with either of the above to give opinions on the benifits/disadvantages of either option. The biggest thing with a homebrew setup that I want opinions on is the tuning/engine management. Anothernord, I know that you've been using the Ultimate what is your opinion on it? I live where I do have to pass smog so a standalone is not an option for me. Unless I move a half mile up the road to Adams County. I have a quote on a swap that I got this week. It was $2700 for an 04 WRX engine, wagon wiring harness, dash, cluster, steering column and wheel. It was another 1500ish for an 06 wrx driveline. I guess this question is more directed towards slavik. When you swapped your Legacy how difficult was swapping over the wagon harness? I would pefer to swap over the entire harness and limit splicing and soldering to doors and lights. I am looking forward to hearing everyones thoughts. I am sure I will think of more questions, but as I am running off an hour of sleep and working a 12 hr day. I am gonna go grab some much needed zzzz's. Feel free to PM me.

To swap the entire harness, you'd really want to buy a full (wrecked) donor WRX. For that much $4200 you could get a REALLY nice wrecked wrx.

Garrison is right. Your better off getting a complete donor wrx or any turbo subaru between 02-07. That way ull have every part including the gas tank and all the evap stuff and u no youll be able to pass emmissions rather then trying to figure out and wire all that crap in. And id really suggest u get a 2.5 cause the legacy is a heavy set vehicle and any extra power will help. You sould look into 04 forester xt. It has the same motor as the sti and has 4.44 5 speed so tje gears will really help it scoot. Plus the fxt is a wagon so the wiring will already have all the rear wiper wiring and youll have the rear wiper stalk.

Complete donor!!! You'll have TONS of spare parts and will never have to worry about searching for dumb things like relays and plugs on Nasioc.
