Bought this car a few months ago and the engine went 3 weeks after I bought it. After hunting down a GDB engine I ran into an ad for an S203 engine with only 40,000 miles. I went to the shop where I get work done on my cars and asked if they could help me buying everything I would need for the swap. We pieced everything together and after almost 3 weeks it was all done. I'm very impressed with the car so far. Here's is a modest list of mods, some which are not listed because I need to actually write this stuff down.

Wisco pistons
Aftermarket main bearings and rod bearings

I don't want to like it, because the Blitzen was so cool... But, damn, man.... That really is a sweet car, especially without the white wheels it had. Didn't it have a wing when you got it though?

Cervantes

It didn't have a wing when I bought it and there was no way I was letting to of the wheels! I want to get some people together and get some more pics soon.

But DAMN that is a beautiful sti!!

Thanks, I'll get some better pics and see what you guys think. I'm having some sensor issues, but hopefully that'll be fixed soon.

Cervantes

Here are my short term plans

3 port Grimmspeed boost control solenoid and wideband A/F gauge to fine tune the maps. After that I'll be getting odds and ends like a heat shield, new radiator shroud, and a few other small things.

I don't have any big plans for the car. I want to fix the paint blemishes so I can have a nice looking performance car.

I'm not a huge fan of the grill or the clear marker lights but, thats a sexy damn car. I like it, I like it alot.

Been having some sensor issues. Cam sensor, rear o2 sensor and a couple other codes. Changed stuff out, but I'm still having issues. I'm starting to think it might be a wiring issue.

Cervantes
12-05-2013, 09:33 PM
Changed out the cam and crank sensors, which got rid of all but 1 code. The cam sensor was half rusted and the cranks sensor was covered in black junk. Now I'm getting my clutch looked at. That thing is being a beast to drive. It won't engage smoothly unless you rev up to 3000rpm, down shifting and reverse are a nightmare. Driving in this okinawa traffic has been stressful because of it. It'll hopefully be fixed late next week.

I've been messing with the suspension for the last 3 days finally got it right. It was so low that I wasn't comfortable driving it around, now it feels better. The rear is slightly higher to give it a more aggressive stance, and the spring has a lot of tension.

rkrenicki
12-07-2013, 08:02 PM
What is the last code you have been dealing with?

Cervantes
12-07-2013, 09:03 PM
I don't have a OBD2 reader, but after changing out the cam and crank sensor, I think the rear O2 sensor if left.

Cervantes
01-05-2014, 01:08 AM
This is us last night attempting to install a Cobb heat shield...total failure, it's for a WRX and won't for because of the O2 sensor.

https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2014/01/image2-1.jpg

This afternoon I installed an Innovate LC-1 with the LC-2 wideband. Since my rear O2 sensor was going bad and the LC-2 has 2 outputs, I used the narrowband input as my O2 sensor. They sent me the wrong color gauge, so that wasn't installed, I'm just going to use the output to the computer to get my car tuned.

hahaha! soon, been busy with work and tuning the car.

Cervantes

So here is what's been going on with this wild ass ride. After we put the S203 engine in, about a month or so later, one of the pistons went bad. After dropping all that money on parts, engine, and everything else, I had to regroup and put together money to rebuild the engine. I would've just gave it up, but I already had too much money invested in the car.

One of the guys I know helped me break down the engine and another guy helped with rebuilding the engine (honestly, he did most of the work). If it wasn't for these guys I would've never gotten the car on the road. Once the engine was taken apart by my friend Rich, I took it to my other friend Iggy to be rebuilt. Once it was rebuilt we got the engine put back together and I got it back on the road. Iggy is now in the process of tuning the car, which has made such a HUGE difference. He thinks the timing was so off on the car that it could've possibly been the reason the piston went to shit.

It really helps when you want to get something done on your car. Stalls are pretty cheap to rent, the car necessities not so much.

At least it was just the clutch. It could have been the motor that was eaten instead.

Also, most of your pictures are dead now, did you delete them all?

the motor has been completely rebuilt and tuned to safely boost that high. you are right though, i've had a piston and a rod go bad on me before.

i'll check and see what's going with the pics later.
