97+ Steering rack assembly manual?

Anyone have a manual or know how to remove the rack assembly for rebuild? I have it totally stripped down but can't get the internal metal gland removed to slide out the rod. There is no lock wire on my assembly. Can't figure it out.

Why not just get a new/reman one and call it good?

Have you downloaded the Factory Service Manuals? I'm not sure if it would be in there at all...
