Hey guys,
I really like the look of the spoilerless BD5 Legacy.
I current own a 1996 RS Legacy, which has the spoiler mounted and the third brake light in it.
I have been meaning to remove the spoiler and ill be having a lot of free time in the next couple of weeks to do so.
I was wondering if anyone has any idea how exactly it is done, or if they have done it themselves? To me it looks like 4(?) bolts in total, and then maybe a bit of force and it'll be off? I don't want to cause any permanent damage and want to be able to put it back on if necessary.
Also, another issue i'll be facing is the Third brake light, obviously its illegal for me to ride around without a third brake light, and I've been looking around at those universal LED Brake lights that mount inside the rear windshield. The problem I'm seeing here is probably wiring, as I assume the brake wiring simply goes through the boot hinge and under the car. The issue then being how would I wire the brake light into the cabin and to the new light.
Any help would be appreciated, there is a local Scrap Yard near by called Pick a Part (New Zealand) That I will be visiting to test out removing a spoiler off one of the BD5 Legacy's in there (Unfortunately they are pretty shit condition so I can't find an actual replacement).
Image of what looks like a trunk with a removed spoiler, which is the look I'm after as I dislike the small spoiler and think the car flows better in terms of looks without it, personal preference It seems as a lot of people tend to disagree with me
