Hello I have a 01 LL bean h6 with some front end damage. I am searching for a parts car and was wondering if the green in a LL bean was only offered in that model? I'm finding non llbean outbacks it seems the green has a bit more bright green to it. Are these 2 different paint codes an also I would like to know where to reference these things. Thank you.




I'm thinking maybe the limited had same green as ll bean but not base. It just looks a bit darker on the ll bean and limited than the base outbacks. Search continues

Color code is on the VIN plate under the hood. If you are talking about wintergreen which is 444 that is a very common color. Newer 03+ iirc had opal green which is slightly off

Thank you for the feedback and resources. The LL Bean is 8K4 is the color code. Now I have to figure out if only came in ltd/ll bean.


I'm thinking its timberline green. Not sure what 8K4 means on the plate under hood. It says color code. But on that cars 101 thing it's gxg. Hmmm. But I'm thinking they made all the models in timberline green.

8K4 is a code for a two-tone color scheme. It includes Timberline Green Pearl (83N) and Titanium Pearl (89N)

Okay so based on that can I find a base model in 8k4? And just use parts off that and put the little LL bean sticker on and pinstripes and be set? I have a smashed ll bean 2002. I also have a 01 but its not smashed. But both 8k4. I want to find some parts and just find a donor car non ll bean if possible.


So I'm seeing on your link that the color is 83n really. As long as car has that as primary color I'm good.

I'm thinking all the ones I'm finding are deep green pearl not timberline green metallic. I found a ltd had same color but I got to look at some codes on these. It looks the same at some angles but in the light it really is different.
