Car Won't Start...What Am I Missing?

the car cranks
almost starts on occassion(half a second of life)

what i've done:
changed fuel pump
coil
plug wires
plugs
fuel filter
verified all fuses with a pilot light

added a ground cable from neg terminal to engine for added measure.

is there anything else i could possibly try? or check?

the car was driving fine one day while on the freeway then just died. after that it did not start back up.

Did you crank it while spraying ether into the intake?

Check the timing belt, may have jumped time.

Figure out what your missing.
fuel
air/compression
spark.
Report back after u have checked those

checked the timing belt. all timing marks line up, fuel pump is priming, im getting spark. havent checked compression yet
