Hey everyone,

I've got a new to me '96 Leggy GTB, and as much as i love the seating position, I'm getting sick of the center arm rest console being too low.
I recently saw an outback of a similar year that had a much taller version of the same piece.
Has anyone swapped these out, or know what years fit into the leggy?
I can't find any wreckers that have the 95-99 style, only 00-04; would these fit in place?
THanks in advance.

For one, whats your location? Two, yes, there is a taller one. I have a taller one for my GT-B I have state side, but havent had the time to swap it yet. My USDM GT has the taller one, they are really common here in the states, you just need to get the right color, so you will more then likely need the 98-99 black/gray US one.

Beauty; thanks for that information. I was hoping it was a direct fit, but now i have to find one in black.
I was hoping that the 00-04 style would fit too, as they seem to be easier to come by.
Updated my location too!!!
Cheers

If I get time today, I'll see if it bolts right in. I dont see why they wouldnt, but I do know that there is a small bit that is different but it should work.

Most USDM Outbacks have the tall arm rest, so it should be easy to find. I dont think that 3rd gen will work at all though. Or if so, it might not look right.

The tall and short console lids are a direct swap, my L came with a tall one with a broken latch. I've since had a short one and another tall on in its place.

I can say the exact same thing. When you hit the junkyard, look for one that still has the side supports. They'll keep it from breaking the hinge as easy.
