Props on the thread. I'll be following your progession! Were you able to get the tails in the states or did you have to get them from Japan and can't wait to see how installing the rear seat goes!

I got them shipped from Japan, they came relatively quick. I know I'm stoked to put the seats in later today, had to clean the shit outta them lol.

the GT & the L sit at the same height, but they are both lower than the Outback model. I had H&R sport springs on my Impreza and loved them. I want a set for my Legacy as well.

Also, the GT has skirts, the L doesn't. They make it look a little lower.

I had the same cusco strut bar on my impreza. wish i kept a lot of my suspension from the impreza, but that woulda taken the price down a lot! Now put that WRX rear seat in lol!

Like an idiot I did not take any pics during the process  but I can tell you that you will need to re-use your stock bracket for the middle split. Oh and there are metal nubs on both sides of the seat that need to be cut down, I cut mine down quite a bit. I'll get pictures either tonight or tomorrow.

Nice to see another BH hanging around. Looks great!

I can't wait to see pics of the WRX seat install. That'll make life much easier if I can pick up a set of both front and rear seats for my wagon. Is it from a bugeye?

Yes the seats are out of a bugeye, I picked them up for 100$ and I am quite happy. Now I just need to find some fronts haha, and I'll get pictures up tomorrow when it is lighter out.

Thanks I thought so too. Yes and no. I'm still trying to work on the brackets for the middle and the right and left sides. When I fold them down now they kinda come out of place haha

WRX seats look fantastic! It's funny that you found the rears and now need a set of fronts, when for me it's the exact opposite. I own a set of fronts and am interested in a rear! Go figure. Also, the carbon wrap is very well done. I'm impressed, often times people butcher their install.

Thank you! I have had the hardest time tracking down fronts, I found like 3 rears haha, that was my first time using it and I need to redo the shifter surround it got a little messed up :/

I've done wrx rear seats on a 2nd gen legacy and 99 forester.
I dont know how different your chasis is but if you can get the bracket from 02-07? Impreza wagon it should work.
What i found out is that you can use the 2nd gen outer rear folding brackets for it. Rear driver side (i believe) you will have to elongate the hole. You can also use the middle bracket (2nd gen) but it will only hang on 1 bolt instead of 2 which will leave you a gap between the seats. You can fix this by using the center folding bracket off an 02-07? Impreza wagon

I would like some input from you guys, should i go with bugeye front seats or seats from an 05 wrx? I am leaning more towards the 05 seats.

Bugeye to match the rears, otherwise I like the black 05 wrx

teeceRS
03-16-2014, 08:04 PM
Definitely match it. If you were to do mismatched, I'd say vice versa. Like in my Impreza I had 03 WRX front seats and 03 JDM WRX rear seats. The JDM seats don't have a print like the USDM ones. The rear seats are more of an accent to the front seats imo. I just think having something different up front and something out back would look better rather an all black seat up front and a seat with a pattern in the back. Hopefully getting a matching 03 wrx wagon rear seat this week myself :D

It'll probably bug me every now and then but, I can always try to source an 05 back seat out. The whole look of the seat is what really sells me on them haha

So i picked up some 05 WRX seats in great condition the other day, and needless to say i am very happy with them. They are much more comfortable than stock and the also hug you in corners better.

And I have had this sitting in my room for about a year and still have not touched it, due to incorrect mileage between my car and the cluster.

amazing looking BH wagon, the front seats. Do they fit in with the interior? I'm in the same boat about the stock GT seats are kind of shit, looking for a upgrade. Was thinking of a 08 STI seat in black/gray.

Don't know about USDM Legacy and WRX seats, but I had V8 STI spec C fronts in mine - pulled them out after a week and sold, you sit very high, even on the lowest adjustment. The passenger sits even higher. Just couldn't get used to (not that they were much more comfier than JDM stocks). My 2 cents ;)

Thank you very much, your BH is very good looking too and the engine as well . They fit in quite well with the interior, the only thing that bothers me is the door cards. But I'm hunting for leather ones.

Not sure about the STI seats but here is the info I have. My 98 wagon had cloth seats, they sat lowest. I got BDGT Limited leather with the height adjustment. Even on the lowest setting they were slightly higher. I now have GC Impreza RS coupe seats and they sit higher. I feel the RS seats are the most comfortable that I had in the car. They definitely have the most side bolstering.
