So
I just picked up a 96 legacy outback. Green/Grey, 122K mile 2.2 that rides pretty nice.
Clutch was just put in along with a seperator plate, rear main, valve cover gaskets, timing belt, and I think water pump.
Has a damn near new set of blizzaks on the stock wheels. I'm gonna have to hunt down a set to swap them with soon.
No rear quarter rust but the back side of the passenger doors is rusted. Enough to brown the paint on the opposite side -_-.
Been trying to clean it up and get it sorted. It really needs it.
Previous owners were dog people and you can tell in the 'trunk' area. Seems they used the car just to haul the dogs and fight snow.
If I have any goals for the car at all, they would fall along the lines of reliable DD that has massive utility and I can stand to look at and drive.
I'm working the little stuff now. Trying to get to a point where I can spray it with the blitz black I've had in the building for a few years. Absolutely want to lower it.
Over the past couple days I've got some of the little stuff done.
Took it to the pay n spray and blasted the majority of the dirty and gunk off it.
Spent a few hours cleaning the dog nose off the windows in the back. Scraped the AWD and ABS stickers.
Pulled the rear carpet and spare and cleaned it up a little. Vacuumed the carpet, cleaned and vacuumed the rear compartment.
Pulled the bottom panel on the hatch. Haven't found a way to get the dog hair off yet. -_-
Head unit went in.
Pulled the front wiper arms and shot a few coats of flat black on. Stuck on some rain-x blades.
Pulled the ugly blazer spoiler off the hatch, and a buddy helped weld up the holes. Put a little putty in them.
The original dealer emblem was ... pop riveted... on to the hatch. I drilled it out and put a couple more rivets in the holes and dabbed a little plastidip on them to black them out. Looks much better. Will probably weld them up later.
Pulled the shower bar / grab handle. Realized I liked it more than I thought so I sanded it up and plasti-dipped it. It looks pretty good but it could use a few more coats of dip.
Preformed a snorkelectomy. Found the little support for the corner of the bumper in little pieces of rust.
To do in the very near future.
Next good day, pull the front seats and shampoo the carpet.
Peel the vinyl part of the 2 tone paint.
Handwash and finish .. sanitizing the inside.
Finish off the hole filling on the hatch.
Pick up a pilot rear wiper and put it on.
polish the headlights and fog lights.
My antenna is bent, and the plastic around it is cracked.. Probably need to look into replacing that...
I really want a privacy cover and a rubber outback mat.
And I need some floor mats pretty bad.

Snorkelectomy and ate up bumper support. Hopefully I can figure out how to replace that... I'm not excited about checking the other side.

Hatch as it sits right now. Need to sand that filler and prime it, and I think I'm gonna shave off those gold badges too.
The bar could use another coat or 3 of dip, but it was only meant to be temporary anyways and looks good enough for now.
