Hi there its been a years I havent posted here, but I bought a mint Legacy Outback 2.5i for a real cheap price. Problem is the engine :smt011 , and instead of replacing it with another 2.5L I was wondering if the JDM 2.0L SOHC N/A would be a direct swap/replacement so I wouldn't worry about head gasket or reliability issues. I have read it has 10hp less(of which I do not give a :thefinger: ) and more reliable than the 2.5L. I know someone did it on his 02-03 Impreza TS wagon and seemed like a direct swap but I didn't find anything for the 05 Legacy 2.5i.
I will be doing alot of road trip this summer / daily drive, so I don't want to deal with headgasket issues. Even if I change headgasket tstat, tbelt kit etc etc with oem stuff I will still have the overheating issue phobia. No WRX/H6 swap for me.
Any input would be appreciated thanks.
