So I've been trying to figure out this alarm issue for the past few months. I still haven't been able to resolve it.

I have a '99 Outback which is equipped with the alarm system and the key fob according to the lady I bought it from. She lost her original set of keys so apparently the fob is gone and I wasn't able to ask her what style fob it was.

I looked under the dash and found the alarm module but when I try the key cycling I get no results. I've also looked all over for the reprogramming button and haven't found anything.
I've come to assume that it's equipped with the Alpine system, but that doesn't really leave me with any more answers since I still can't reprogram it.

On top of that, my dad ordered some Remocon fob, so I'm not entirely sure it'll even work with this system even if I get it into programming mode.

Thanks in advance, Kyle.

IMO, take it to a car audio shop and see if they have seen anything like and if they know what type of fob to get. Or take a picture and upload it here - there is a lot of knowledge here and someone here might know, too.

I've followed the steps to that cars101 guide and still no luck. The alarm light blinks twice and then stops but according to the guide 3 blinks is valet mode, so I'm not entirely sure what mode my alarm could be in.

Posting from my phone, so hopefully I downsized the picture enough so it's not massive.
