View Full Version : Newish owner of a '99 Legy GT

Hello all. My name is Clay. I picked up Su almost two months ago. She's a '99 and had 105k on her when I picked her up.

This is the first time I've owned anything not made by the big three. I was a bit nervous for a while, but she has taken good care of me so far. Fortunately she was owned by an elderly couple up until late last year. The gentleman I purchased her from replaced the timing belt, valve cover gaskets, and a few other things in the short time he owned it.

I previously drove a '95 K1500. Unfortunately that was getting to be too much of a money pit with gas and repair costs. I wanted to find something that would get me around decently in these upper Minnesota winters and fortunately this girl popped up just when I needed something.

Enough about me I suppose and on to pictures of my Su. These are from his ad and this is exactly what she looked like the day I picked her up.

Thanks! She really IS clean. That was the major deciding reason I bought her.

I live up in Duluth. The original owners, and the guy I bought her from live in Two Harbors.

Where abouts in Duluth? I thought I had a lock down on only modded BD in the city haha

I live right by, and work at the mall. I'm attending LSC for my AAS in Auto Service Tech.

There's a few around, but not many. I haven't done much with Su yet other than I bought a new Sony receiver and flipped it with the pocket. Outside of that, she's completely stock. I might start putting some parts into her if I have some spare cash this summer. I'd really like to get a set of Koni coilovers into her. The only other two things I want to do right away when I have some money are a tint job and I'd like to have a local shop powdercoat the snowflakes to gunmetal.

Awesome! Ive never actually been to Duluth, but I plan on going there this summer.

It's a great place to visit. There are some fun winter things one can do in the area. It's not a place I'd recommend living though. Hah!

Hey now, Duluth is awesome. I've been to a lot of other places and they are all shit compared to here haha.

Lmk when you want powder coat, I'll hook you up with my buddies shop. Also when you want tint, I know the best guy in town for that too.
