so as of all of us subaru owners, that famous "subaru rumble" is definitly something we all want coming from our cars. i have a bone stock (engine wise) 2003 subaru legacy L. Will i get the subaru rumble we all strive for with just the uel headers and stock exhaust, or will i need an axel back, or cat back system. please guide me in the right direction. thanks guys!

from what i understand. No, getting a rumble from a Natural Aspirated engine (2.5L 2003 legacy L) is more complex than just buying uel headers.

So UEL is the best start you can have. Most "bang" for your buck rumbe start wise. If you find that you want more sound get a cat back if you still aren't satisfied highflow cat or trackpipe is the next option. To each his own but yes. you will get SOME rumble from just the UEL's. Here's an example.

Try things out piece by piece because what is enjoyable to ones ears may be a racket to others =) just my 2 cents

I think you will find people use UEL headers in combo with some sort of form of axelback and resonators

Since your keeping your stock cats, just do a simple cut of the stock muffler off, go to the auto parts store for a $12 straight pipe section to clamp on to extend it to your bumper and call it a day.

If you decide on a muffler go borla all the way.... You won't be disappointed either route.

I was thinking a universal magnaflow! I've heard good things about them! But my dad has a borla cat back on his imprezza wagon! It sounds pretty good!
