Well, my brakes need replacing so I decided to upgrade while I was spending the money anyways

I ended up getting the RacingBrake slotted rotors front & rear from Teagues Auto (recommend by Philip), HAWK hps pads, and Goodridge SS lines. I am curious to see if there is a significant improvement over stock or not... I'll post pics in this thread when they are installed.

When this setup wears out I am going to upgrade to MY06 WRX 4-pots up front and MY05+ LGT Turbo rears.

I think you'll like the new rotors and pads. The performance stuff seems to carry more bite, but when you upgrade your rotor size (to the 4 pots and LGT rears), you'll get a smile on your face. My car stops MUCH better now with just the 4-pots on the front and carbotech pads than it did with the crappy L brakes. Enjoy your new setup!

Yeah, I hear you about the L brakes.. They were horrible on my MY95. Plus I think they were only power assist (non-ABS) as I locked them up plenty of times in the snow and such. Not to mention that they were useless once you got 'em hot. There is a huge hill coming off of a mountain near where I live, the speed limit at the top of the hill is 55MPH and 30MPH at the bottom. I have never heard brakes make a noise like the first time I took my BD down that hill

I am installing the setup tonight, I'll try and get pics (not that its any big deal) .

These brakes make a huge difference over stock on my car

Front rotors (pair) were $199.99, rear rotors (pair) were $189.99, front pads were $79.99 and the rear pads were $69.99 Throw in shipping and the total for the rotors and pads was $616 (of course my order was for a bit more  )

Also, I have yet to receive my SS lines as they are on a 4-6 week back-order :-(

No, although I didn't do it.... I had a friend do it since he is a mechanic and I was having new front wheelbearings installed. Might as well get the brakes on at the same time

Very much so. The pedal feel is amazing, and hopefully will be even better with the stainless lines

One of my passenger front pads is "chirping" when I get on the brakes easy, but goes away if I get on them a little harder. I assume this is because the pads haven't seated all the way yet...

becuase of the material and it being a harder compound, it has some noise everynow and then, and dusts about the same as stock (on slotted rotors) should be less on stock rotors. The bite is amazing as far as I am concerned, but my stock brakes were shot...

My set up is Power slot slotted rotors, Hawk HP pads and Goodridges lines. The set up is great, I used to run CARBOtech bobcat pads but the Hawk HPs make less dust. I will do the Hawk HP pads again. I think if anything the lines and pads what make the true difference. Also doing the brakes isn't hard at all.

Yeah, I hope my lines come in soon... They are on a 4-6 week backorder :-( The feel right now is great, if the lines make it better I won't know what to do with myself everytime I push the brake pedal
