I'm sure most, if not all, of you have seen on Facebook that I have recently purchased a wrx wagon. I wasn't really planning on buying another car for the next 4 years but I couldn't pass up the deal.

Removed the camo vinyl to find some hail damage on the roof. Blacked out the trim on the headlights and restored the lenses. Also found out why the one foglight didn't work, the foglights have hids and one wasn't even hooked up. I had an extra key fob that my cousin gave me for Christmas a year and a half ago so that's now programmed for the wrx.

I still have to install the whiteline steering bushings, front coilovers, and new rear sway bar bushings.

I'm also waiting to hear back on it's potential new engine. The engine's owner has to tear it apart to see if the shortblock sustained any damage (threw timing). It's from an 04 forester (ej253?) so sti pistons and if the wrx heads are good than I'll throw the engine in and start driving it around.

After that I'll start shopping for parts for a transmission swap. Unfortunately this is an automatic so a manual will be it's next modification.

Even with all the bodywork that has to be done I'm quite pleased with this car. I'm planning to start tearing into the engine after I get back from Pennsylvania and try to get it running as soon as possible, even if it's still auto It'd be nice to drive it around.

So plans have changed for this car. I'm going to finish pulling the engine and offer the wrx up for sale without the engine. Once sold the money will most likely go into buying a second gen legacy gt sedan 5 speed.

There's seriously a 5 bolts left holding the engine in but other things have been taking a higher priority.

Anybody want an 02 wrx automatic wagon?

update on this...car was sold months ago. i kept the mods and the bottom half of the engine and let everything else go with it. The parts I kept more than made up for the $500 hit I took selling the car. Plus now there's enough room to work on the Model A and store my RS when I need it.
