Picked her up on Saturday just a bit south of Rochester NY, 67k miles 7 passenger family hauler. For now I'll be mostly concentrated on selling the outback but once that's done some minor alterations will be made.

I haven't looked it up, but the 09 is an EZ36, yes? How does that compare to your EZ30D, driving experience wise?

well there is no comparison, this thing will rev effortlessly I am almost surprised how light it feels. The old outback has way more feedback, this one i am not used to yet, been riding bike to work.
Engine is a lot more refined maybe its a 5eat thing but it feels like it can outdo my outback like nothing (whiles sipping 87 instead of 91)

Nice 2nd gen. tribeca-if you want a rim so you can have a full size spare-I got one-from a 1st gen.

Love me a Tribeca,i always wondered why Subaru does not promote them in television comercials like their other models.

dodik
07-08-2014, 01:34 PM
Thanks guys, i really like this one just the feel of it is really solid and the 3.6 revs so smooth.
I haven't used a spare since i had a pontiac 9-10 years ago, always carry a small compressor and plugs.
Well its already discontinued and mostly because it was mis-advertised in the beginning.

installed front 05 outback springs as time was scarce I didn't take any exact measurements of the drop, but its about and inch, ride quality didn't change in any noticeable way, just more refined leveled look.
in order to install outback springs you would also need outback upper spring perches, as the springs taper on the outback and not the tribeca.
You can not use 05 outback struts as the knuckle is thicker on the tribeca.

here some pics

Yeah I got a couple of SLI stickers on her,
well if you ever need the 3rd row seating then definitely look for one, otherwise H6 outback would be a better choice.

Did you change anything in the rear suspension?

dodik
09-25-2014, 11:40 AM
no rear is stock, but is very easy to change if wanted to, like any multi-link subaru its a 3" diameter spring that can be bought in almost any length and stiffness

dodik
10-06-2014, 09:40 AM
the beginning of something beautiful, at this point i ran out of electrodes and light, will continue on the next weekend, still needs two crossbraces and an aluminium cover. then i will start on the rear one. and the roof basket.

I will be watching this thread and looking for ideas for our '08.

Gotta say, I love the Tribeca a lot. For how big & heavy it is, it handles really well and is an extremely nice highway cruiser.

I got to see this last week at the RI meet. The work done in the center console is so amazing and factory-like that nobody else even seemed to notice. Dodik, you have to post side-by-side before/after pics here.
Oh, and those 20's look really good on there. It should've just had those from the factory.

well nothing has been really changed on the car, the AVO lca rear bushings that installed like 9 month ago alread failed, so gotta fix that, decided to raise the car, so next weekend going to raise it up, 1/2" spacer in front and 1" in tha back, nothing crazy.
here are few current pics cause I know you all like them

Old rotors didn't really look that bad on the front faces but the back sides were in bad shape, which explains the grinding noises.

Car is sold, I for the first time in 14 years no longer own a subaru, or any other vehicle, its a strange feeling taking a metro to work all these weird people and no favorite radio station down there.
