Meet Ruth, my Spruce Pearl Wagon!

In pretty good condition for how old and how much ground she's covered since 1996. Was basically all stock when I purchased in fall 2013 with 189,000 miles.

My first winter with her was an enjoyable experience! Pulled a jetta up a snowy hill and took many trips to Mt. Hood, Oregon for some snowboard sessions.

A few weeks ago I replaced the spark plugs and wires, do not have a engine bay shot though...

Tonight I had enough time to change the oil and filter. Next is front ceramic brake pads, PCV valve testing and fuel filter which are waiting on my desk.

The suspension in this babe is toast though, I am going to replace it with new KYB's and King Raised springs and perhaps some strut spacers. Who knows, maybe even a set of all terrains! Poor old 2.2 powertrain... :(

The 2.2 will handle 27 inch General AT2s, just fine :)

On another hand, you're close by. Might you be interested in a set of JDM wagon tails, and a Tsudo header/track pipe I have? The Tsudo parts are BNIB.

Yes interested! PM attempted! Also, the 27" General AT2s look good! I'm also looking at the BFG's too, although they are probably heavier and certainly hit the wallet more.

No pm received. And personally, I like the generals better than the BFG for these applications, since they are a little lighter in the sidewall. Makes for a more comfortable ride/drive.

PM actually sent! It didn't send previously due to "ROTM committee" as a recipient, I had overlooked that (why, i don't know). Did you ever make a thread for your lifted postal? I'm thinking that's where your experience with the AT2's comes into place.

Excited to replace my suspension bits too. I was thinking of lifting, but I wouldn't mind lowering either. Can't decide, but that's not a big issue. Daily driving still and loving it every time. :)

Today I committed to swapping the old door card fabric out with new cotton duck canvas. It's a an basic project and I enjoy the new look. I did not take pictures of the process, however it's really straight forward.

Pop the inner panel off the door, disconnect wiring or switch panels, unscrew the door card and rip off the existing fabric.

Trace old fabric's shape onto desired fabric with right around 3/4" padding (or whatever you think is best) all around and cut it out.

Find the tackiest adhesive spray and apply evenly to both backing plastic door-card insert and one side of the new fabric.

Lay the new fabric tacky-side-up on a flat surface and with the plastic panel, center the two before merging.

Don't worry about pulling the fabric tightly across the panel just make sure you don't have any wrinkles.

Once you have adhered the two together, you will most likely still have time to get out any little imperfections.

Next I made sure that just the edge, all the way around, was pulled snug and laid the excess fabric around on the back, just as the factory fabric was applied, modestly cutting the tight spots so the back side fabric could lay down on the back of the plastic card piece easily.

CaleDeRoo Your plaid choice is great! I had a hard time choosing what color and pattern, but ultimately went for the cheapest and most subtle. Ever since seeing this BRZ owner's custom headliner I have been inspired to do something a little eye-catching though!
