I was wondering is it easy to install a new pulley kit? I see the HP increase and I really want to do it but I am not sure if it is something I could do.

The actual pulleys are easy to replace. Just make sure you keep it alligned the same as the old one. You will need a giant breaker bar for the drive pulley. I used a 9 footer :razz: Other than that, I didn't encounter any problems (other then breaking 2 socket wrenches before I realized I needed a breaker bar). I also needed to buy new belts because the others were too big.

You'll have that. Check out www.boxer4racing.com (http://www.boxer4racing.com) to get complete pulley sets, with the belts. (I'm not sure if you have the pulleys yet or not?).

Or if you already have the pulleys (I have them from Unorthodox... I think thats pretty much the only decent company that makes them for the Legs) on the instruction manual it lists possible belt sizes. The FIRST BELT SIZE from the manual worked perfect for me.

I was thinking about only getting a crank shaft pulley. Not a under drive. Just keep the same size. I was told by xcceleration that it would add 10HP!
Now you will have to excuse my ignorance but I dont know which of my pullyes is the crank shaft pulley. I have the EJ25 Engine.

Well as I look at my set up I see 3 pullyes. There is one in the middle that looks to be the main one and the next big one is off to the left. It is also big but it only has room for one belt. The one in the middle has room for two.

its a really stupid easy install, if you know what you're doing. If you dont, its worth your time to do it so you know whats up.

well it looks to me to only be one hex bolt. that is looking at it from the outside. As to weather there is any thing else I would have to do I dont know.

there really isnt. Just undo that one hex bolt and replace the pulley (and the belts). You may need to loosen the adjustment bolts on the other two pulleys so that you can get a tight belt fit and no squeeking. Remember, the single bolt is a bitch, you will need a breaker bar.

a giant bar with the socket on the end that fits the drive pulley's bolt (i want to say 18mm but that could be way off). Because the bolt is on so tight, a regular socket wrench wont work. It will either be simply too hard to get the leverage or you will end up breaking the mechanism on the socket wrench (I broke 2 before I was smart enough to get a breaker bar :roll: )

you can buy one so that it uses the same sockets as the socket wrench set that you have. The breaker bar cost me about $20-$30 but I bought a small one then attached a weight lifting bar to it. It took a 5 foot breaker bar for me to get mine off (it was really on there). Just get creative. It also helps to have a friend (or enemy) behind the wheel as you pry. That way, as you start to losen it, they can depress / lift up on the clutch to unsrew the bolt (with a breaker bar, it has no rachet)

its not bad. Its one of the easiest things you can do to the car. Plus, it is good experience.

yea. Im not really sure you gain the full 10hp, but it definately makes a difference. With my 3 pulleys, full exhaust w/cat, and intake I gain about 25 (just a basis for comparison).

I only said 10 because that is what the people at Xcceleration said I would gain using a Agency-power pulley

the 10hp gain is only in 1st gear. dont forget to stick a screwdriver in to lock the flywheel in place.

Everyone should own a socket set and a breaker bar. Get some vicegrips while youre at it.
