So, I've got myself a, well, 'disposable' EJ20D that is running in my wee BC... I know I know, you guys will hate me for treating a 20D in that regard, but to me it's an experiment, and a stepping stone until I can build myself a motor I really want, a "22G"
I've got a possum link ECU running it, and I'm just wondering where abouts I should start with ignition advance. I'm just mocking up a basic tune to run until I get a knock light on there for me to really dial in the advance. Some light googling comes back with the odd N/A tune from the states, running anywhere up to 40deg advance in the higher revs, and more like 25-35 under load, midrange.
Does anyone have any more example tunes I can peer at to get an idea of what kind of numbers I'm looking for, and where?
And on tuning non turbo subies, is knock usually the limiting factor for power, is is peak power made before you hit detonation?
