View Full Version : Say Hi y'all from VA
Hello SL-i members,
My name's Tee. located in Northern Virginia (20170)
I am very excited to introduce myself and my fresh commuter.
back to 01/2013 I purchased 02 Outback base model from senior owner and drove around DMV area .
Unfortunately its needed head gasket that service dep.of local dealer would charge me around $2500 (car worth $2400) and I was newbie for flat four game .
I got into the Nissan/Infiniti 's game!, owned G20 for 1-1/2years. but I will sell it soon because investment crisis.
Now , My brother who is mechanic gave me a 95 BK7 with installment plan $100 x8 weeks! that would be awesome deal! I can't beat it any more because of my current sitaution
The car needed
1.alternator , now running of remanufacturing with howling noise
2. it got in hail driver side front door would be needed to get it in shape!
I'm down to get some mods and I will do myself,
1.MSD coil pack
2.power mode
3.good oem 16" wheels &tires set
4. front seats
5. door cards recover all around
and JDM front head light & rear taillights as well
I would be appreciated if any one can suggest me some clean mods.
Well, Pictures are worth thousand words!
let see her shape on snapped shots

please excuse me for dirty car
thank you
Wow, other than the color and the door, you're really reminding m of my first Legacy. One nice, cheap mod you can do is sanding (I used a brillo pad) the black off your hazard button. it's a bright orange underneath, like the JDM ones, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper.
Also, the Outback/GT hood is always a nice addition, especially if you have the money/ability to repaint it. it's fun seeing them on cars in this color or wintergreen, because you can be certain that it's not a factory thing. (this color and wintergreen only were in 1995, and the Legacy didn't get the scooped hoods until '97 in the US.)
A piece of advice, if you ever decide to swap to an Outback or GT bumper, you'll need to get the whole beam, not just the plastic cover. You'll probably want the grille, too, as it's taller.
Suspension-wise, these cars are like LEGOs, parts from all kinds of different Subarus can be made to fit them.
Good luck with your car, and welcome to the forum!

thanks for greeting and nice suggestions
first modification would be sand down emergency button!
next thing would be usdm 98-99 Crystal headlight swap! and interior map lights and headliner swap ( hit j-y tomorrow!)
decision made , I won't get pricey jdm part this moment except fender marker light in clear type!
just bought used 06 STi suspension after getting off work

just bought used 06 STi suspension
O o.. Unless your willing to mess with the front strut, it wont fit. You would need to put a washer/spacer because the 05+ sti have a wider knucle and you will also need to elongate the strut bolt hole to the knuckle because the 5x100 vs 5x114 pattern is different

how about putting rear in and grab 04 STi front instead?
Done with head unit + Outback's tweeters installation on last Friday
happy with new look then will hook new speakers up soon .
my system is hi-power , cant believe it turned out very well on soft music not for Hiphop or mega dance music

04 sti fronts would work. For some reason I like the 95 (maybe 96) steering wheel better than the ones from mine. You can reach the horn with your thumb. Helps alot if your driving a manual

I do agreewith you , this wheel is very useful other than that it looks like some truck wheel anyway.

my friend of friend drove down and stopped by next lot.

I usually swap my fixed mirrors for the folding ones lol. I like to be able to fold them specially in the garage for more room. I should of traded you mine
The original passenger side folding mirror has broken base. I figured out problem by replacing both folding with fixed at this moment,
because its factory black color brings my car bright.
My favorite night!

So, I was so tried after doing LED installed
last night I have a long & deep sleeping.
I wish you guys could have a wonderful night too.
thanks for cheerfulness,
I kind have slow project on my BK.
this would be my mod list order to order without engine mod
interior lights> exterior cosmetic> suspension> wheels&tires> brake
Hopefully,I can release my built thread as soon as possible.
05 WRX struts + 06STi tophats +ProDrive blue springs were on
mine today.
Legacy's brake line housings on Legacy Strut should be reqired to cut when wrx strut takes place.
I shall get WRX brake lines then.
Front height is greater than back about 1/2".
I might throw Paranoid Fabrication 's 1/2" saggy butt spacer on her soon.
unfirtunately! I CouldN't get B4 rims on along with WRX brake setup because tires will next week.

SO much winning in this. making good progress and a bulletproof engine. However... not to sound like a jerk admin(which i am NOT)... but future posts should be directed to MRI thread.

its run better than stock 220k miles, I love to drive fast in the corners.
so, If snow comes, I can put STi springs to get little bit higher.
