hi, im new to this forum and i need some help. i just won this item and im not sure if this would fit my 98 gt perfectly. i read around that they changed the grill in 98 in the jdm legacys also so im wondering if this would leave that half inch gap or not. the seller states that its from a 98 legacy. but from the pictures im not so sure. if anyone knows could they please give me some more info. im also interested in a jdm bumper on ebay also, it doesn't come with the bumper beam, would i need a jdm bumper beam to install a jdm bumper? or can i use my usdm bumper beam minus foam and fiberglass. thanks, any help is greatly appreciated.

I think the grill may leave a gap beneath it and the USDM bumper. Not sure.

Bumper-wise, the 5mph impact bumper on the USDM beam will not fit. It's doubtful that the JDM bumper will even have the correct mounting points on the USDM beam. You can make it work, with enough grinding though.

That will leave a gap between the top of the bumper and the bottom of the grille. Look at the shape of the curves at the bottom corners on the grille compared to yours.

The people who did JDM bumper swaps that I've seen have always replaced the foam beam underneath with the JDM one.

Some people can't stand the gap, some are fine with it. But there will be a gap on a JDM grill to outback or GT bumper. The L's are the bumpers that those grills fit into.

The car above is mine, and I'm fine with 'the gap', honestly unless you know it's there you'll never see it.

AFAIK the JDM bumper skin will not fit over the USDM bumper beam without modification, but the only way you'll know for sure how much modification would be required is to get one and try it out.

fo sho. i have been told you just need to shave the beam some and it'll fit fine. i think they only have two grille sizes, the old ones and the kouki style. old ones are the smaller ones.
