I hate to post on here without having introduced myself first but this problem is starting to get on my nerves. Lately ive been having trouble with getting my car to shift into reverse. Almost everyday when i get to work i pull into the parking lot and when i go to back into a parking spot my car wont go into reverse. I can shift into other gears but reverse just wont work. Ive even tied letting my clutch out then pushing it again and also going into other gears before trying reverse but it still will take 9 or 10 trys to finally go in and once it does i can get it to go in a few more times before it doesnt work again. I do have a lot of play in my shifter when in gear, about an inch or so side to side and was wondering if there is enough play to the point that the linkage isnt able to move far enough over? I also believe my throwout bearing is going out and dont know if that could be causing it too?
