Hood insert

For the last 4 months I've been watching the paint disappear from my hood insert on my 99 Outback, and it's starting to get really annoying. Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions on how to remedy it?

Take it out and repaint it. You have to remove the hood liner and upbolt a few screws. I havent done it yet myself but I plan on removing mine or powder coat it.
