Sheared brake shield bolt

2004 USDM Legacy L-s wagon.

While trying to make life easier, I made it harder. I did this while working on the front tie rod.

I sheared off the middle brake shield bolt. I was more careful/lucky with the top and bottom bolts.

Has anyone else had this issue? How should I do to go about fixing it?

Drill/tap - for smaller bolt.
Zip tie - probably not smart
Leave it?

The other two put up a fight but came out OK. I wonder if trying to recover the remains is even possible without a torch.

Drill a tiny pilot hole off center, use progressively larger drill bits until youre almost touching the threads on the knuckle, torch the knuckle with an easy-out hammered into the hole and twist.

Well, I'm done with that for tonight. I broke a GRAB-IT in the screw body. I'll have to run zip tie around. I'll verify that it clears the rotor.

Those small propane torches are cheap, and necessary for rusty cars. Thats why you broke the easy out.
