I'll finally have some time this week to do some work on the Legacy. I'm painting the grill and the wiper arms, but I wanted to run this by people that know what they're talking about first.

Grill:
Sand it up
Prime
Paint, any suggestions on the color I should use would be nice (thinking about just going with black)
Clear coat

Arms:
Grind rust off
Sand
Paint
Then what? Do I clearcoat the arms or leave them as is? I dont want paint to run in a heavy rain or anything like that

If you see anything wrong with any of that, let me know.

sounds like you got it.

I would colormatch the grille white, personally.

As for the wiper arms, the paint won't run, but it'll chip from road debris, mine did. Clear coating will protect them.

This Spray Paint is amazing. My friend used it on his door frames, the rubber along the windows and wiper arms.. you cannot get that paint off! It won't chip or anything, the adhesion is phenomenal.. and that was without primer :cool:

Remember to prime, if you're worried about nicks and scratches showing up, then you'll have to fill them, then sand.

For your wipers, you could probably just use some flat black barbeque grill paint. It'll be flat black, high temp and probably dang near impenetrable. I painted my grill, with black paint and duplicolor wheel paint clear coat. I did about 5-6 layers of black and a good 4-5 in clear and it started chipping off pretty quick. :cry:

Wiper arms now 100% rust free and primed, its 103 degrees in my yard so they should dry quickly

Edit: They're painted up and they look GREAT :grin:
