hey all, i have read on a few posts that all subaru seats are a stright swap (no modification to rails, etc) i am looking at buying some WRX GC8 seats. will these be a straight swap into my 1992 liberty?

If no-one pipes up here, try USMB.net.

I would say there's a high certainty that they will work, though I'm not 100%.

There shouldn't be any problem at all.

I think my thread was stickied. But there is some differences. Seat belts will need two new bolts (grade 8) and one of the 5 holes will not line up.

thanx heaps for the info. would i have to get these seats engineered or certified at all for them to be legal? also i've heard these seats could sit really high, is this true in my 92 lib (i'm 5"11')

You're in Sydney, so I would think that the transport auth. would have its own regs on changing the seats. You may sit higher, but not by much. Not as much as using 04 WRX seats.

I went from completely crushed 96 legacy seats to 02 imprezza sport seats and there was a height increase, but mostly due to the new(er) cushions. No offense, but you don't sound like that big of a guy, so maybe a slight increase in ride heigth might be benificial? Just make sure you use good Grade 8 hardware when you mount up the seatbelts.
