does anyone know where i can get a GT hood for a BD chassis used or new i dont care but i need it soon. this is due to being backed into and i have a trip comming up, the only vacation i will get this year. i will not pass it up haha i cant ill go crazy. so i was hoping someone would know where i can get a GT hood. i have an L but i want to upgrade. i just lost a hood to someone on ebay by one dollar in the last second (i hate that) it was the exact same color and everything. but anyway yes ive checked ebay but is there an online store i could check out?

Is their insurance covering it? If so, why not go OEM, or atleast get quoted for an OEM hood + paint for an L, then find a used GT hood (or OEM) of any color, get it painted, or get a CF hood.

An OEM hood with paint should be a quote of atleast $650

nope insurance wont cover it. i have basic and i woudlnt want to raise my premium. but do you know any good places that i would have good luck finding a GT hood. i dont really have the money to get an oem then get a GT so its kind of a one shot deal. that is why im pushing the GT so soon.

This is where I looked for a GT hood, but there was nothing close enough to be worth the trip in gas. Ended up just buying one new for $394 @ the dealer, and got it painted so now it'll last a while.

i got the hood now i have a problem. when i was hit the bar that the hood latch sits on in front of the radiator was bent in and so the new hood will not latch becuase its not bent like the original was, so i pulled it back out and god it as straight as possible and it still wont latch, so i took the latch ring off the hood put it in the latch and bolted the latch ring back on, but that is only a temporary solution. do you think that the latch itself needs replaced like could it be bent or something or did i not get the bar straight enough?

I'd replace the latch if you can find one for just a few dollars. Go to a junkyard. Metal fatigues when bent back and forth. I know I'd want the the thing holding my hood down nice and sturdy. Though your temp solution should be fine for quite some time.

found the problem the bar i was talking about bends back in every time i shut the hood. so i stuck a peice of wood behind it to brace it and lossended the latch ring so it had alot of play and just jiggled the hood until it shut then tightened the bolts agian. so now i think ill have to get a new latch and weld a support beam on the bar.
