Hey guys-don't post much on here, mostly just read and learn, but got some questions I'm not having much luck finding solid answers to anywhere, and thought I'd ask you all for help.

I'm swapping to a 5MT trans from an 07 WRX into a 99 Legacy wagon with 5mt and subsequently the matching rear diff.

My question is: Will my Legacy axles work in the WRX rear diff? Going to try to get the whole swap done this weekend, and would like to make sure I have all my ducks in a row, but I can't find a good answer to this question.

If not, what do I need to do to make it work?

Thanks for all the help and for creating such a great resource.

Yes the rear axles will work fine.

Thanks for the info! That made my life a lot easier! Now to just get the 04 sti front stubs and seals/circlip for the front.

You can use 05-07 wagon axles in the front instead of swapping stubs in.

Ok! Thanks for the heads up! I may just go that route... legacy or WRX or either?

I don't know if the 05-09 legacys are wider or not. But the 05-07 impreza wagon has the same track width as our cars, and have the male axles. You'll have to knock the abs ring off the end of the newer axles, but they go in perfectly. I'm running an 05 trans in my legacy, so I've been through it lol.

Just ran into this with my '99. Running 06 wrx axles and stock hubs, 04 sti rotors and brembo calipers up front.

'06 RF (bottom) vs '08 RF axles (top)

Found out the linkage on my '08 trans is longer so I had to use the '06 stuff.
