So, lol when it rains it pours. I was lucky enough to figure this one out through a lot of searching and a COBB AccessPORT. I guess I'm posting it more for helping others that might have this problem, so they don't waste time and money at the dealer.

Car:
- 2005 Subaru Legacy 25GT
- 5 Speed Manual (5MT)

Whats Happening:
- When the cruise control is set (Both the green CRUISE and SET lights are on) the cruise control seemed to randomly disengage.
- Was most pronounced at speeds above 60mph, and in 5th gear.

Diagnosis and Fix:
- Connected my COBB AccessPORT and monitored the Neutral Sensor Switch. It was varying between 0 and 1 (On and Off) while driving. (It would bounce 0 to 1 to 0 every 1/10th of a second).
- If I applied very light pressure in the direction of a 5th gear shift, the sensor would read 0. (Off or not in neutral)
- The car was thinking it was being put into neutral, so it would disengage the cruise (annoying, but it makes sense... silly sensors!!)
- Installed a new Neutral Sensor Switch and TADA! Fixed.

From what I found this was a problem on the 2005 models with a manual. No Subaru recall though... hmmm I was baffled for a while and got lucky when someone posted what was happening AND the fix. lol So I figured I'd post it here to help someone else with the problem and the fix.

Since you already fixed the problem, this is somewhat redundant.. but I was going to suggest either the Clutch switch, brake switch, or the neutral safety switch.

lol I know it was a little redundant to post... but I couldn't find anything that really fit what mine was doing. I was really worried it was related to vacuum pressure or something along those lines. I just hope it helps someone in the future.

And those were the next two targets after the neutral switch. lol
