What to do with transmission

I have a 97 Legacy Gt and need a trans, is it worth rebuilding? Or should I get a reman? I can't seem to find any new ones online. And its an automatic

Personally I would buy another one. Preferably from someone parting out a car who knows the trans is still good.

Given that a well maintained Subaru automatic is a pretty reliable one, I would also recommend this route. I can't say I know a ton about remanufacturer companies so I couldn't really make any recommendations. It's probably worth looking locally for some quotes & how they guarantee their work though.
