Anyone here knows the whp on a 1st gen ss? Sounds like a kid on there with a 91 says he runs 11-12 psi and only 130 whp. That is funny and seems low. I can get a header, highflow cat and a proper tune and I could take him. Can anyone shed some light on the subject?

stock hp rating at the crank on a 91 SS is 160@5600rpm, torque 181@2800rpm and IIRC 8.7psi was the max boost for those 1st gen. turbos

correct! Which would land you at around 120 whp from stock.
If he's only getting 130 whp with 11-12 psi, he's maxing the turbo and not using an IC.

That sounds about right.
Lest we not forget people, WRX's run around 140-150whp stock.

on a very low Mustang dyno maybe. Most estimates I've heard are from 160-180 for the 2.0L WRX and 200-210 for the 2.5L WRX.
And 240-250 for the STi.

Agreed. Your car will have less power, much less torque, and more weight.

Does anyone know where I can get dyno numbers from a stock 1st gen turbo? I dont think it would be a huge difference (at first I did). If this is the case my new setup will smoke 1st gen turbos.

so you want to confirm that slow>slow?
doesn't seem terribly important.
