Subaru Legacy Brighton BH Parts

Hey everyone,
I recently got myself a brighton wagon and being a car that needs a few tweeks here and there I was thinking about upgrading some of the stuff with oem and after market stuff.
now with all the searching i have done one this car the most disappointing thing i have learned is the rear suspension is unique to this gen brighton.
I have read that somethings like gauges and speakers from other trims will plug right in but things like foglights have to be wired in to the harness.
The sticky didnt have much info about this gen, mostly just maybes.
Has anyone has experience "debrightoning" and can confirm things that will plug right in

Never knew brighton came in the 3rd gens. IIRC the brighton are the lowest model, almost no power windows/lock/mirrors, rear drums, no tach, no cruise...etc....

Best thing to do is get yourself a 3rd gen parts car and swap everything over. The engine and wiring is the same so you don't have to worry about the engine side and trans. mostly the bulkhead wiring/doors/dash/abs system/rear disc brake and such

The BH chassis Brighton was only available in 2000, and was a very uncommon model as it was only available for Fleet purchase. I have never seen one in person, only a few pictures of one. I do know that the cluster will swap in from any other model with no modification (since the Brighton does not have a tachometer), but I am not sure about any other options.

my car is really awkwardly equipped.
its got power windows/locks/mirrors but not tach. (talk about a great car to learn stick on lol)
the car its self is obscure enough to have its own engine code (ej252) and i cant for the life of me find any info on it.
i was looking to get a GT or Limited parts car to cannibalize rear disks and cluster (possibly swap engine with a 253 and a longer ratio 5MT)
initially i wanted to put some sti stuff in it like an R180 and 6MT but i have no clue if it will even fit.

brightons are weird but they are kinda cool because of it.

You cant find ANY info on the EJ252? If I type "EJ252" into google, I find all sorts of information about it....

EJ251 and EJ252 are basically the same engine. The only difference is that in 2000 and 2001 models, the EJ251 was in Automatic Transmission cars, and the EJ252 was in Manual Transmission cars. The cam and crank sprockets and sensors are different, but they are essentially the same engine. It was not Brighton specific in any way. It was used in Legacies and Outbacks, and even some Foresters.

When ever I looked for something regarding the ej252 it usually ended up with lots of info on the 251 and 253 but hardly any one the 252.
Maybe im just not looking hard enough.
Thank you for clearing that up though, i have been looking to find a replacement engine/trans for when mine eventually kick the bucket.
