This is my 1989 Nissan 240sx LE 5spd.

After blowing up my Legacy for the last time I decided to put it on hold while I build an engine that I want. In the mean time I needed a car, so I started looking into a reliable daily.....some things happened and I ended up finding this car for $1750. 1989 240sx hatch with an original 5spd and only 184k miles, I couldn't pass it up; the catch was that it started and everything worked, but the car ran like shit. So I took this heaping pile off the previous owner's hands and turned the distributor 10degrees and plugged a vacuum leak, after which the car ran like a top for a couple months....until I blew this motor up. $250 on CL later I started my first ever engine swap/replacement, the motor mounts were completely separated so I took a few weeks to cut through those and get them off and put the "new" motor in; started up first crank, I was very pleased with myself. This new motor came with a fucked up header that was stuck to the head and was mangled at the end, so I couldn't put my exhaust on it and had to drive it open header for a little bit. Then I saved up enough money and had a guy do a custom straight pipe to two boso pipes, which didn't quite get rid of the loud noises, but it moved them all the way back so I could still think while driving, not so much the people behind and around me. Also got a pretty cool shift knob welded on too, one of a kind ;)

So after that engine was swapped I fixed some random issues like not being able to rev past 5k rpm, upgraded fuel pump, put in a welded diff, removed power steering, and drove the car while I was dealing with some medical bills. After all that was taken care of I started my Legacy build again and decided it would be a good idea to stop following the speed law, noise law, and the safe driving law, which resulted in a lot legal trouble for me...anyway money has been pretty tight so I haven't done much to the car after that, which bring us here.

My plan is to make it a drift car of course, what else are these used for? Haha.
Future plans include:
-Install dual Z32 caliper Hydro E-brake(in process)
-Convert to 5 lug
-XXR 530s in 18x9.75
-ZG Flares
-RB20DET
-EVD Legal Tandem Cage
-A bunch of aero to fix/cover all the body damage.
-2550lbs including me
-TDP front suspension kit
-Wisefab rear suspension kit
-Proper two-tone respray.
-POS13 Custom Plates

Everything else is stock. Now I know that some of you will not like my car, that's not a problem, you are entitled to your own opinion and I'd love to hear it, as long as it's intelligent. This car is a big joke to me, everything I've done to this car has been on a whim and not taken seriously, it brings smiles to children and it makes people snap necks in awe and that's all I care about.
Any comments, questions or concerns are welcome!

Apologies for any bad pictures, I'm not a photograph, best I got is Instagram.

So, found out my rings are fried on the Legacy and decided to hold that off and rethink the plan. In the mean time I got my hydro kit.

Got the hydro, SS lines, mounting bracket, dual caliper brackets, Z32 calipers(Thanks Dead91Silvia), hub rings, all the bolts and mustang rotors. Just need to either convert my car to 5-lug or redrill the rotors to be 4x114.3

Then I got to go to Evergreen Speedway with my "club" and watch everyone drift, even got to use my tow strap.

It was a ton of fun! They had a special track layout this time, it was entertaining to watch everyone progress on the new track set-up. No casualties this time, but there was an S13 that slid into the wall and caught fire in the last 15 minutes of the day.

Also took this cool pic when I was over at a friends' house.
Nothing else to update, cheers! ;)

More updates!

After my last post I've done a few things.

First and most exciting is the fact I finally lowered my car for $400, and not with cheap shitty ricelands either.

A real nice set of Megan Tracks, they are a competitor with PBM and since I wanted the 12k/10k PBMs, these are a nice replacement as they are the same spring rate, have front camber plates, and come with 32-way adjustable dampening.

Just look at the difference between stock and aftermarket, the ride is just as noticeably different as the looks, completely changed the way the car behaves, so much so that I am not confident drifting on/off ramps on the highway anymore, need to relearn and get used to it. Which is exactly what I did this Valentine's weekend!

I had snapped my welded diff a week ago and had a buddy's shop weld it back up stronger, to kind of return the favor I decided to make a video advertising how well the diff is holding up haha.

Went to the track again at EVD to support my car "club", didn't get any drifting in, but I think I may have found my next wheels until I convert to five-lug for my hydro. What do you guys think? Should I get a full set? MK2 Supra Wheels.

Also got a new phone and played around with editing on it; turned out pretty cool, but very pix-elated.

That's it for now. In the near future I will probably end up buying those wheels and tuning the suspension set up until I'm satisfied with the dampening enough to keep a track setting and a daily setting; then mess with camber, wheels size, and tire size while I re-learn the new and bigger limits of my car. Going to be slow progress because I'm finally getting a big piece of the puzzle for my Legacy Build, so that will take priority while I daily this. Until next time!

Cheers! As always comments and questions are welcome!

Another update! This one houses some good and some bad news and a ton of pictures haha.

So after Valentine's I went ahead and finished that LED Cluster Mod I wanted to do for a while. It didn't do anything to the performance or age of the car, but it feels SO much more modern with actual lighting coming from the gauges,
114

Like I promised, I messed with the dampening of the coils and found that 1/32 is going to be daily and 23/32 is going to be track. The adjustability is awesome, I can't imagine being competitive with the softest setting and I can't imagine surviving a trip to work on the stiffest setting, good thing I decided against ricelands :D

After all that and a long week I decided to visit a friend's house over the weekend and drink. Obviously being a responsible human I parked my car and didn't drive until the next morning, what I didn't expect when walking outside was this......
115

My friend's mom was in a hurry to get to church, so she must have floored it out of her driveway and hit my car, that's the only way she could have picked up that much speed in a 5 foot driveway. She said she moved my car two feet, like it was a joke and laughed it off. It took every ounce of willpower to keep my cool and not just start yelling at her....There is no doubt that the car is totaled, that is probably one of the hardest areas to fix. It's not too bad, the frame isn't bent, none of my suspension components are bent, wheels is okay-ish (who cares haha); but insurance is going to total it anyway. I'm planning on just trying to get as much money from this as possible, buy my car back and put the rest into my debts, then just bang out the dent as best I can and cover it with aero.

In other news I went to the Golden Gardens StanceWars meet, it got shut down pretty early, but we got there around 9am and stayed until about 2pm. It was fun to watch people doing burnouts and drifting, even though it got shut down, I had a good time. Also got bored with the wheels and decided to dip them, fixed the alignment of the passenger door so it shuts all the way now, dipped the skirts and redipped the lip, fixed my stereo, and polished my pipes ;)

That week our club invited an actual photographer to our weekly meet to take pictures of us. It's amazing how good a car can look in pictures compared to real life haha.

Just to try and keep this going for no reason I'll update. The car has been giving me a ton of problems since the last time I've updated. First the fuel pump started working intermittently, which took me about a week to figure out because I kept thinking it was a bad injector or bad FPR. Then once that was fixed, literally the same day that I fixed it, it broke down again.....this time I hit a bump and the car wouldn't spark after that, I checked voltages of everything and it seemed fine. I finally gave up and gave it to a shop to figure out; they found that the problem was with my dizzy. The drive gear on the end of the distributor had snapped in half, one side of it was in the end of the dizzy, the other somewhere inside the motor.....I decided that instead of taking out the engine, having to replace all the timing components and the distributor drive assembly, I will swap a better engine in. There's no point in saving the single slammer. So I called Doug at UPGarage, very cool guy, he gave me exactly the info that I needed and then some! Through him I contacted a person who has a complete RB20DET swap with everything I would need to swap the motor myself and some extra goodies which I'll get into later. Picking it up today for $2500! Now that the Lego is somewhat finished and is just waiting for minor parts before it can properly run I can keep myself entertained by swapping this in.
