Inverted Lug Nuts

Seems like a nice way to ensure your socket doesn't scratch your nice wheels.

My bro have it on his impreza and its not bad. Its light and yes, its nice that it doesn't scratch your wheels specially if you remove them often. Just make sure you don't have extended studs!

I am a bit skeptical on alloy/aluminum lug nuts as they are fragile to say the least, i've seen them break very easily and they weren't cheap either. If you plan on using them make sure to use anti-seize and lots of it, torque down by hand no impact gun whatsoever. to me it seems that anytime alum and steel come together especially open to weather like that they seems to fuse into unbreakable bond that will eventually destroy one or the other part.

I am running aluminium lugs on my car. I was kinda sketched out because aluminum and steel react when in contact with each other, then introduce an electric current, and an electrolyte such as water with natural minerals (like salt). I dont really understand it beyond that. Its some type of electrolysis. I like its galvanization or something. The same thing happens with antifreeze and aluminum when they sit with the battery connected, which is why you change your antifreeze every 2 years. Has nothing to do with the "heat capacity" of the fluid. Its that electrolysis is turning it into acid and it eats the aluminum.

Anyways back on topic.

The aluminium nuts are fine. But I dont like the inverted or 'tuner' lugs. I ran them on my car and when the corrosion gets to the inside it makes it really easy to strip them out. Here's my car.
