From reading the forums, I know the H6 rotor upgrade works with the WRX rear calipers but will the H6 upgrade work using the stock 1 pot rear calipers on my BK? This would save some cash not having to buy the wrx or 3rd gen. legacy GT rear calipers. Also would I use the same brackets #14-1605? Thanks for your help!

I believe you will be fine with your calipers, the brake pads have the same number across the models. Since you have a BK, you have the slightly larger bore on your pistons over the BD caliper.

Thanks Regardie! Wanted to ask you about those Delta cams but this is the wheel, tire and brake forum so hmmm.... Did those delta cams increase horsepower enough to necessitate bigger wheels, tires or brakes?

The early brake calipers will not work on the H6 brackets. The calipers you have attach with one bolt and a sliding pin, the newer calipers attach with two bolts. You will need new calipers. Even my '99 Legacy still has the old style calipers.

Thanks Alphius. Guess I'll have to break down and buy rear calipers as well.

It is a work in progress. The cams, the lightweight crank pulley and a free flowing exhaust will all add to the power. I was able to get a Delicious flash for my ECU which helped a bunch. Sadly, I am currently on a stock ECU as I battle the P0420 issue.
My 2000 Legacy GT came stock with the "H6" rear brakes so currently my rear rotor is bigger than my front rotor, the fronts were up-sized in maybe 03. The only reason to swap out wheels would be to decrease the unsprung weight on the car. Or for looks. The quality of the tire is far more important than the size when it comes to stopping power. And use good pads on whatever rotor you have, match it to your driving style.
I did put a JDM Bilstein kit, struts and springs, and a not quite correctly fitting Baja rear sway bar to help the handling out and I have some WRX front rotors to put on at some point. The rotor adds some un-sprung weight but the larger size, more mass should heat up slower and cool down quicker. Same pad shape and caliper.

Looks like you are headed in the right direction with your GT. I'm having a mental battle between performance and budget and also trying not to add a lot of weight to my wagon. I will have SS lines and upgraded brake fluid and pads this spring and probably WRX fronts. Just not sure if I can afford all new rears before track season gets going.
I am driving 95'BK wagon. I was eventually done with Front & Rear BB upgrade
now, we are talking about rear H6
actually on my car , the caliper and bracket would be different from WRX and Newer Legacy's that automatically judge that we could not hook up original caliper to the bracket of Outback model (H4/H6 are the same).
MEANTIME, I HAD TO ORDER WRX BRAKE LINE BECAUSE OLD BRAKE LINE COULD NOT FIT WRX CALIPERS (I GOT SS LINE)
Wait! Do you still have original brake on front?
please do not gain rear if you still have small size in front.
Here is a picture of my brake set up

Thanks WPEC. I won't do larger rears without larger fronts. My previous track experience (many years ago) was all done on stock brakes with stock pads and fluid. Lap times became very inconsistent due to brake fade and probably fluid boiling so I'm trying to avoid that.

Hey Go Mifune, I am just down the hill in Morrison/Littleton and have a set of H6 rear rotors, brackets and calipers in my garage. If you are interested let me know, I have two sets, but I think I am just going to use one.
