When looking for new struts that fit to wrx springs that will eventually be put on my legacy--Do i look for wrx struts to fit the springs, legacy struts to fit the body, or some sort of combination? I have seen others post about similar things some time ago, but now I can't seem to find the threads. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

wrx struts and wrx spring perches.

if you can find the whole assembly bolted together that would be the best thing.

Yea, definately match the same struts and springs.

This thread might be of some use.

shouldn't the wrx spring perches come with the wrx struts?

you'd think so, but you can never be to sure.

KYB has informed me that the perches are physically a part of the strut on their products.

I do have my eye on WRX group N strut tops though. These should fit, correct?

kyb is talking about the seats that are the defining attribute that make it a strut rather than a shock. You need something to hold the top of the spring down- the perch. Topmounts or tophats don't need to be replaced, but seeing how they're a big bushing, you might as well if you want to do it right.
