The typical Subaru way for cosmetic mods is to choose stuff from the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM for short). Try eBaying JDM stuff for your gen (BL & BP are the chassis codes) and see what tickles your fancy.
Other non-JDM mods that are popular:
Hella horns (bright red, behind the grille)
Black Out the inside of headlight housings
Plastidip parts of the grille & badges
Rally armor mudflaps
And of course, a different set of wheels can really change the look of a vehicle. There are a ton of Subaru wheels available used, especially if you live in a popular area for Subarus (looks like you do) that will fit. Pretty much every Subaru since the Legacy uses the 5x100 bolt pattern, except for the 05+ STi, the Tribeca, the SVX, and now the 2015+ WRX, Legacy, and Outback.

If you order Rally armors, let them know that its for an outback and they will make them longer.

Number one priority, should be window tint.
After that the best visual mods are wheels, spoiler and height change (down or up).

Hi Josh,
Please check us out www.hkc-speed.com. We have lots of JDM parts for the BL (sedan) and BP (wagon).
For the 08 wagon, JDM tail lights, aero splash guards and Bilstein suspensions are the most common mods.
You can also try the JDM Spec B grilles, but it would require some modifications to fit.
The front bumper, rear bumper, hood, fender and headlights are NOT interchangeable with the JDM ones, so be careful.
Cheers,
Lu
