Hey guys! We havent had an actually Offical SLI meet here in WA so we are going to have one! Rain or shine, 40 people or 2 people.

What I need from you guys is what date will work best for the masses. This will be a meet planed for a Sunday.

I'm working on the location right now and it will more then likely be at the school/church I go to. Dont worry, going to church will not be required. ;) The reason for this pending location is I should be able to get it free for a Sunday and there is plenty of parking and we can setup BBQ's and have plenty of room for all. If any one has any other meet location ideas, let me know, I'm open to suggestions, as long as it is a free location with no permits required. The church is in Puyallup WA. It's about 26/27 miles south of Sea-Tac Airport. A good central location.

We are looking at a later May, or June date. Would be great to meet up with other Legacy owner and show off our cars! I know we have a lot of new members and a lot of veterans as well. Lets rival that MD meet and show that the NW ha the same passion! ;)

I'm in. Pushing for later date. Only because there is some doubt I could make it if this is scheduled in May.

I'm definitely coming! Any date works for me, it'll just motivate me to finish up my car faster haha.

Any dates other than May 10th and June 21st would work for me. I'll be out of town for both.

Point Defiance Park is really nice. Seward park is also beautiful and usually has decent parking in the upper parking lot.

peugoby We will try and work with those dates.

Those locations are great, but they are not friendly to car meets. Sewerd Park is by permit if I remember right. Red85Celica might remember. And Point defiance is extremely crowded. we can look into both, but they are both REALLY popular with the sunny months. Marymoor Park might be another idea, but again, really popular and also they do charge.

Kraziken It's looking like June might be the better time. If everyone can keep possible dates coming, we will see what will work best. ;)

No. this as a thing is now allowed. Robin you must come to the EAST coast for meets. none of this west coast nonsense....

but in truth... wish i could be there..

Marymoor is close to me. I like that.

But there is often a lot of things going on at Marymoor. I say the cost is no big deal. Parking is $1.00. But depending on the day you could be competing with concerts, or sports activities.

I would suggest a possibility of Discovery park.
The place is huge. Even in very nice weather I don't think it gets too crowded. At least that is what I recall. I used to do Army Reserves there. Some good places for picture opportunities.

It has been many years since I've been there. So I can do some scouting if anyone likes this spot.

----------------------------------------------------

Discovery Park is a 534 acre natural area park operated by the Seattle Parks and Recreation. It is the largest city park in Seattle, and occupies most of the former Fort Lawton site.

The site is one of breathtaking majesty. Situated on Magnolia Bluff overlooking Puget Sound, Discovery Park offers spectacular view of both the Cascade and the Olympic Mountain ranges. The secluded site includes two miles of protected tidal beaches as well as open meadow lands, dramatic sea cliffs, forest groves, active sand dunes, thickets and streams.

The role of Discovery Park is to provide an open space of quiet and tranquility away from the stress and activity of the city, a sanctuary for wildlife, as well as an outdoor classroom for people to learn about the natural world. Maintained in its semi-natural condition the park will continue to offer a biologically rich and diverse natural area for urban dwellers and an unmatched opportunity for environmental education.

Discovery Park might be interesting... I havent been there in years. Last time I was there though parking sucked, but I might try and check it out here in the next few weeks just to make sure. West Seattle is a little out of the way for just about everyone though. LOL... But I'll look into it. ;)

Discovery Park is nice, can be a little crowded for parking on a sunny weekend.
Whats a realistic expectation? 10 cars? I live less than a mile from Golden Gardens but that place is a total mess. I'd recommend Carkeek park (beautiful) but there is limited parking there as-is.

Discovery has a couple lots to park in. One toward the back is usually pretty open and there is a large field with tables. Good for bbq and having kids or dogs with you. Or just playing around :)

Finally the PNW has a meet. You guys have more numbers than the MA (Mid Atlantic) group, and might even match the numbers of the NE (New England) group. It only makes sense that you'd have a yearly meet too. I guess it's been difficult to organize with all the legalization going on...

We'll take a look at Discovery park for sure. I might look into Point Defiance as well, but the only parking lot I know we would be able to do it and have the needed spance and fun is on a crazy hill. Also it's not easy for people from out of town to find.

Not a chance in hell I want to do it at Golden Gardens though. Parking sucks as it is , the traffic to get there is not friendly to anyone, unless you live in Ballard, and you also need to get a permit if you do have a car meet of sorts and those are getting harder to get from all the shenanigans that happen there with the Stance Wars meets. Just getting one spot of a weekend afternoon can take you 20 minutes.

I'm really hoping we can get some Oregon, BC, and maybe even some Eastern WA or Idaho members out here. Easy access is a must.

And Yamazaki, it's been too long without! We have a great amount of people here from the other meets I have seen. We should have a good showing. I love the meets in MD so I'm trying to get the same type of comradery that is over there. ;)

If it's a Sunday then I'll most likely be able to go! I've been looking forward to a PNW meet for a long time.

I can't really think of any good potential venues but I'll ask around and see if I can come up with anything.

Sorry guys, It's been crazy the last few weeks. The meet will definitely be on a Sunday. It's going to be pushed to at least June, maybe early July, but we will do something soon. ;)

Well, my car is semi-done now. I can drive it around and stuff....particularly I can drive to meets now ;)

Oh it's also June, which is when we wanted to meet right?

This is dragging out way longer than it should. How about the weekend of December 20th or 21st at Seward Park in Seattle? Central location, lots of parking spaces up top, nice park to enjoy. Shelter if its raining.

Trust me, I would have liked to do this much sooner, but there has been a lot going on these days and not much feedback.

Red85celica and I checked out that park a few years ago and they actually require permits and such. We can do a quick meet if this time and place works. You want to check and see what needs to be done so we can do it Toby?

I was up there this summer and the regional Chevy Impala club had a meet up there. I'm sure its doable. I just spent some time looking at their website and don't see anything about needing permits. I can make a call to their office though.

Why don't we do like a Dick's meet... Little drive for us down south but the one on highway 99 in north Seattle/Shoreline has a huge parking lot empty from a old grocery store that closed down. Pretty close to off the main freeway i5.

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of Dicks. Also, we really should have a place where you can get out of the rain if that happens and they have nothing there for that.

Ok guys, we seriously need to get a PNW SLi meet going this year. Can we start a 2016 meet? I am more than happy to help in planning this.
